Perodua's Supplier Just Dropped A Huge RM54Mil Clue About A Secret New Model Launching In 2027

If you are waiting for a new Perodua model to hit Malaysian roads in 2026, adjust your expectations. Local automotive supplier MCE Holdings Bhd has secured a RM54.28 million, 40-month supply deal with Perodua, giving car buyers a clear clue about the national automaker's secret future roadmap: a new internal combustion engine (ICE) model is officially entering production in mid-2027.
As outlined in MCE's announcement to Bursa Malaysia, the components will be manufactured at its newly opened RM4.95 million MCE Auto Hub in Serendah, Selangor. Key hardware includes:
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- Central audio display units
- Integrated reverse camera systems
1. Is It The Next-Gen Myvi or a Major Bezza Facelift?

Industry insiders and automotive analysts point to two main candidates for this mystery 2027 production run. The current-generation Myvi and Bezza are eight and ten years old respectively, making both long overdue for significant updates. Given that the former long-time sales king recently dropped to fourth in local sales standings behind the Bezza, Proton Saga, and Axia, the fourth-generation Myvi (codenamed D10D) is widely seen as the frontrunner for this 2027 tech upgrade.

Conversely, the contract timeline also aligns well with a comprehensive mid-cycle facelift for the Bezza. As reported by paultan.org, a 3-year contract period starting in 2027 would carry Perodua through to 2030, the exact window when a full next-generation Bezza replacement is expected. A substantial facelift equipped with MCE’s local ADAS systems and crucial safety updates like six airbags would allow the budget sedan to maintain its dominance against Proton's updated Saga MC3.
2. Perodua Moves Toward Localizing Smart Assist Technology
Beyond model speculation, MCE Holdings' contract highlights a pivotal shift in Perodua’s engineering philosophy. Traditionally, Perodua’s ICE vehicles relied heavily on imported Daihatsu Smart Assist systems for driver aid functions. By expanding MCE's contract, which previously focused on the fully homegrown QV-E electric vehicle, to cover an ICE model, Perodua is taking direct control of its infotainment and safety tech integration.
As Perodua continues building indigenous R&D capabilities at its MCE Auto Hub facility, future models are expected to feature more Malaysian-developed electronics, leaving Daihatsu to primarily supply core mechanical powertrains like the proven 1.3L 1NR-VE and 1.5L 2NR-VE engines paired with D-CVT gearboxes.
