Next-Gen Toyota Hilux Travo Interior Design Patent Leaks Online
Next-gen Toyota Hilux Travo rendered by @theottle not too long ago.

The next-generation Toyota Hilux 4x4 pick-up truck, reportedly set to bear a new ‘Travo’ name suffix in Thailand where it is being developed, is poised to debut very soon. And thanks to @theottle, we have an idea how its exterior design could look like.
Now, it seems the next-gen Hilux's interior design patent drawing have leaked online, and there are a slew of notable changes and touches to note.
Leaked design drawing patent of the next-gen Hilux cabin shows it 'borrowing' elements and touches from the latest-gen Land Cruiser Prado and RAV4.

What’s unsurprising here too is how it mirrors some of Toyota’s other latest SUV of 4x4 off-roaders, namely the latest-gen Land Cruiser Prado and RAV4. Inspiration from the former is evident via the squared, boxy air vents, as well as the gear selector lever.
And instead of a Land Cruiser's floating dual-display panel, elements from the RAV4 become evident from the separated instrument panel and infotainment displays. Both measure 12.3-inch, and the latter is ‘floated’ front and centre above the air vents.

Other key interior features visible in this patent include dual gloveboxes, push-button start, a phone tray under the central air vents, and what we presume to be a four-wheel-drive mode selector positioned to the left of the gear selector.
Accompanying the interior design patent is an exterior design patent too. From which, we can also see some notable new additions, key amongst which being the built-in side-step in the rear bumper – just like the rivalling Ford Ranger – for easier flat-bed access of loading.
Also leaked is this new exterior design drawing patent. Note the built-in side-step for easier access and loading to the flatbed, which is similar to what's brimmed in the rivalling Ford Ranger.

These details aside, little else was revealed, and Toyota continues to keep mum about launch dates and timelines. As a refresher, the upcoming new-generation Toyota Hilux Travo is set to bring a host of changes besides a full redesign.
Mechanically, the pick-up truck is expected to harness updated Euro 5/Euro 6-compliant turbo-diesel powerplants, and there’s even the rumoured possibility of added electrification via a mild-hybrid (MHEV) system.

Prototypes have been spotted undergoing tests in Thailand in recent months, and it appears very close to final stage reports various observers in the Kingdom just north of our peninsular’s border.
We’ll have more details once they’re made available. In the meantime, are you digging how the next-gen Toyota Hilux is shaping up? Hit the comments below with your take on things then…
