Charge+ & XPeng Launch Cross-Border EV Charging Network

Charge+ and XPeng have launched a strategic partnership to build a cross-border supercharging network in Southeast Asia, offering charging speeds of up to 480 kW.
The initiative was unveiled in Singapore at a ceremony attended by Charge+ Chairman Ong Tze Boon, General Manager of XPeng Charging Gao Xiang, General Manager of XPeng Charging Overseas Lawrence Li, Managing Director of Premium Automobile Group Lee Hoe Lone and other industry partners.

The collaboration links Charge+’s 5,000 km DC charging highway plan with XPeng’s ultra-fast charging technology.
First announced in 2023, the highway will feature about 45 nodes across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, typically 120 km apart near major highways. Some sites are operated directly by Charge+, while others come through roaming agreements with regional operators.
XPeng’s latest EVs are built to maximise this network. With the upcoming launch of the updated G6, which offers peak charging power of 451 kW and 5C battery tech, its vehicles can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes.
Charge+ claims its upcoming new chargers will support up to 480 kW, among the fastest in the region, equipped with liquid-cooled cables and advanced safety monitoring.

Malaysia is already playing a key role hosting the fastest chargers in Charge+’s network thus far. At KL Eco City, six ultra-fast chargers ranging from 200 kW to 350 kW have been installed, open to all EV brands at a provisional rate of RM1/kWh.
This site is one of the first four to go live under the partnership, alongside Royal Square Novena (max 120 kW) and Downtown East (max 120 kW) in Singapore, and One Bangkok (max 120 kW) in Thailand. Expansion to at least 20 locations is planned, with Indonesia also included in the rollout.
During the launch, it was announced that XPeng owners will enjoy three years of preferential rates and discounts at co-developed hubs. By the end of 2025, the XPeng app will integrate with Charge+’s system, enabling users to locate, pay and manage charging directly from their cars. Importantly, the network remains open to all other EV brands at transparent rates - unlike Tesla’s closed system.

For Malaysia, the partnership builds on Charge+’s growing ASEAN ecosystem. The Singapore operator has a roaming agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), and has also tied up with ChargeSini and Proton’s PRO-NET to expand urban charging, particularly at condominiums and high-rise buildings.
For XPeng, the collaboration highlights its global ambitions, adding to over 2.4 million charging piles throughout China and in partnerships with BP Pulse, Volkswagen and Magna in Europe.
Together, Charge+ and XPeng are setting the stage for seamless EV travel across Southeast Asia, making cross-border charging possible and taking the fear out of long-distance EV journeys.
