Leading Malaysian EV charging solutions firm ChargeSini has inked a roaming partnership agreement with its Singaporean equivalent Charge+.

Local EV charging solutions provider ChargeSini is set to offer EV users frequently performing cross-border travels between Malaysia and Singapore much easier.

Earlier this week, ChargeSini inked a roaming partnership agreement with Charge+ - Singapore’s largest EV charging operators. The agreement was signed in Singapore by ChargeSini’s founder and CEO James Goh and Charge+ CEO Goh Chee Kiong.

This roaming partnership between ChargeSini and Charge+ is poised to enhance cross-border charging experience in the ASEAN region. It also helps to address longstanding concerns of prospective EV adopters about the inconvenient signing-up process with multiple Mobile Apps.

Through this roaming agreement, Malaysian EV users travelling into Singapore can access and charge their EVs at Charge+ charging points using the ChargeSini app. Similarly, Singaporean EV users travelling into Malaysia can access ChargeSini’s EV charging points via the Charge+ app.

Singapore-rooted Charge+ presently operates 2,000 active EV charging points across said island republic.

Established in 2018, Singapore-rooted Charge+ presently has 2,000 EV charging points active across the island republic just across the Causeway.

ChargeSini, on the other hand, boasts 701 EV charging points active at 224 hubs that are strategically located throughout Malaysia – both Peninsular and East Malaysia. Said network consists of 122 DC and 579 AC charging points. (Data: AGMOEV Dashboard, 28 March 2024).

“I am elated that users from both sides can now easily access any of our chargers through our existing apps,” expressed ChargeSini’s James Goh who founded the Malaysian EV charging solutions firm in early 2022.

Malaysia's ChargeSini presently boasts 701 active EV charging points at 224 hubs that are strategically located across Malaysia - both Peninsular and East Malaysia.

Echoing that was his Singaporean counterpart from Charge+ who adds “this roaming initiative will dispel the perception that EVs are not suitable for long-distance and cross-border travel.”

Both company heads also expressed their common goal at connecting EV users through both their networks by creating seamless access to which, as well as contributing to and further catalysing the growth and adoption of EVs in region.

On that last note, it’s worth highlighting that Charge+ aims to establish up to 30,000 EV chargers across the region by 2030 to form an ‘EV charging highway’. Set to span over 5,000 KM across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, the Singaporean firm envisions this to be the ASEAN's longest EV charging backbone once completed.
