PRK_DIESEL003.jpg The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) is urging all public and goods transport companies to register for the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) as soon as possible to secure continued access to RON95 petrol subsidies.

Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said 154 companies with 335 vehicles have applied since the system opened yesterday, including 70 from the public transport sector and 84 from the goods transport sector.

“SKPS has been running smoothly with low traffic. Although numbers are still below our projections, possibly due to the public holiday, we are pleased to see companies taking the initiative to register early

"All applications with complete documents were approved immediately,” he told BH.

According to Bernama, registration is open for nine categories of public transport vehicles including taxis, school buses, ambulances, fire engines, shuttle and stage buses.

Twelve goods transport vehicle types qualify, such as panel vans, catering lorries, refrigerated trucks, and agricultural transport vehicles.

Eligible applicants must be Malaysian-registered companies with valid road tax and vehicles that fall under approved categories. Once approved, companies may apply for fleet cards from up to three oil companies to purchase subsidised RON95. 14TR010A1-1.jpg
“Avoid last-minute applications to ensure smooth issuance of fleet cards,” he said, adding that SKPS builds on the successful diesel subsidy control system introduced last year.

The Ministry of Finance will announce details for targeted RON95 subsidies for private vehicle owners by the end of September.
