PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) is bracing for a significant surge in traffic during the upcoming school holidays and Malaysia Day celebration this weekend, with volumes expected to reach up to 2.2 million vehicles per day on peak travel dates.
The peak days are expected to begin today, Sept 12, followed by Sept 13, 19 and 20, when Malaysians are set to travel in large numbers across the PLUS expressway network and the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2).
To ease congestion, PLUS is encouraging motorists to plan their journeys using the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule available on the PLUS app. Recently enhanced, the tool can now be accessed on selected peak days, making it easier for highway users to plan their trips outside of major festive seasons.

“MyPLUS-TTA is designed to provide users with greater convenience by helping them choose the best travel times for a smoother and more comfortable journey,” PLUS said in a statement.
The highway operator also reminded motorists to ensure they have sufficient balance in their Touch ‘n Go cards or eWallets, especially RFID users, before starting their trips. Downloading or updating the PLUS app will also allow travellers to access the latest travel advisories and schedules with ease.
PLUS extended festive wishes to all Malaysians, saying: “We wish everyone a happy 62nd Malaysia Day and a safe and enjoyable holiday.”
