Full-Time E-Hailing Drivers Can Now Get 600 Litres Under BUDI95
The Finance Ministry has doubled the monthly RON95 quota for e-hailing drivers and expanded BUDI95 fuel subsidy access to over 1,400 registered boat users in Sarawak.
It announced an update to the BUDI95 fuel subsidy scheme, doubling the monthly RON95 quota for full-time e-hailing drivers from 300 to 600 litres.
The move is expected to benefit more than 53,900 drivers, verified through cross-checks with the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad).
At the same time, private boat users in Sarawak have now been added to the list of eligible recipients following earlier expansions to Sabah and fishermen under the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM).
“Based on data obtained from the Sarawak Rivers Board and relevant state agencies, the Finance Ministry has activated BUDI95 eligibility for over 1,400 registered private boat users in the state,” it said in a statement.
The ministry also said over 11,400 newly licensed drivers, including both new and renewed licence holders, have been added to the system, pushing the total number of BUDI95 beneficiaries past 16 million Malaysians.
Introduced at the end of September as part of the government’s subsidy rationalisation plan, BUDI95 allows eligible motorists to purchase up to 300 litres of RON95 petrol per month at RM1.99 per litre.
Full-time e-hailing drivers will now enjoy twice that amount under the revised quota.
