Launched: Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH & Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH – RM129,800 and RM159,800

The new 2025 Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH (left) and 2025 Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH (right) were officially launched earlier today with attractive prices to boot.

After previewing it twice this year and opening pre-orders late last month, the highly anticipated 2025 Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH and 2025 Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH were officially launched by Chery Malaysia today.
Both revised and now electrified crossover SUVs bowed today in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city centre at Immersify KL. Given how we’ve detailed both at length prior, we’ll dive straight into prices and after-sales first.
Included in their respective prices are comprehensive after-sales packages too.

Starting with the 2025 Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH, this C-SUV offering is tagged at RM129,800. Moving to the 2025 Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH, this larger three-row D-SUV offering commands a higher RM159,800 figure instead.
These figures puts both as Malaysia’s most affordable plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUVs on sale now. For reference, the next most ‘accessibly-priced’ PHEV SUV offering comes from sister brand Omoda | Jaecoo, that being the J7 PHEV that's priced at RM158,800.
Included in both figures is a 7-year or 150,000 KM base vehicle warranty, followed by an 8-year or 160,000 KM PHEV battery warranty with one-to-one exchange should battery health dip below 70%. On top of both comes a 5-year free service package to boot.
Both the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH and Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH shown publicly during MAS 2025 earlier this year.

As a refresher, both models share the same ‘Chery Super Hybrid (CSH)’ PHEV powertrain package. It consists of a 1.5-litre TGDi 4-cyl turbo petrol mill augmented by an e-motor and 18.3 kWh battery pack.
Both are tied through a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). Combined, this setup puts out 279 PS and 365 Nm to drive the front wheels (FWD). Up to 90 KM of electric-only and up to 1,200 KM of combined petrol-electric driving ranges were touted too.

Both models share the same 'Chery Super Hybrid (CSH)' plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain setup that promises a combined petrol-electric range of up to 1,200 KM.

Notably, the battery can be re-charged (10-80%) firstly via three-pin wall socket at a rate of 3.3 kW over an 8.5-hour period. Secondly, it also accepts 6.6 kW Type 2 AC inputs to see 30-80% re-charges done in 3 hours instead.
Thirdly comes the ability to draw in 40 kW DC fast-charging inputs for 30-80% re-charges in 19 mins. We’ll also add that both also boast vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharging abilities at a rate of 3.3 kW – nifty enough to power most household appliances.

Visually, both models gain a slew of aesthetic changes and tweaks over their respective and un-electrified Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro precursors. Both also continue to offer a myriad of premium amenities and features brimmed on board as before.
Critically, both models come fully loaded with over 20 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) features to enable Level 2 semi-autonomous driving abilities.

Given what we’ve detailed, what do you folks think? Has Chery Malaysia got itself another pair of now electrified winners in their hands? Would you still be keen to wait and see what upcoming sister brand Lepas has to offer instead?
As usual, share your thoughts in the comments below, as well as our social media pages…
