Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo Unveiled – 648 HP V8, No PHEV

The all-new Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo race car has been revealed ahead of its racing debut in 2027.
Following the debut of its GT3 version, Lamborghini has now unveiled the newest version of its Super Trofeo car, the Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo. Despite being based on the new Temerario V8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) supercar, the Super Trofeo edition does miss a few key technical features featured in its road-legal twin.
That is because the new Temerario Super Trofeo, just like the GT3 racecar, ditches the PHEV setup and opts for a pure combustion powertrain setup instead, featuring the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine as the road-going twin.

That said, this V8 lump has been detuned to now produce 641 hp, which is 148 hp fewer than the street-legal version. That said, the Temerario Super Trofeo is still more powerful than its predecessor, the V10-powered Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2, which is rated at 612 hp.
Another mechanical difference for the Super Trofeo racer lies in its drivetrain setup, where the standard Temerario’s 8-speed DCT gearbox has been replaced by a race-spec six-speed sequential gearbox borrowed from the GT3 model. With the PHEV setup being ditched, power is now sent exclusively to the rear wheels (RWD) for the Super Trofeo.

Rounding off the mechanical upgrades for the Temerario Super Trofeo are the 12-point adjustable traction control system, a Capristo exhaust, BMC air filters, and KW suspension. While Lamborghini hasn’t published the actual weight of this racer, we’d reckon it’ll be somewhere between the standard Temerario (1,690 kg) and the GT3 version (1,300 kg).

Besides the mechanical changes, the Temerario Super Trofeo also sports far sportier and more aggressive bodywork than the standard model. Some key highlights include an aggressive front and rear bumper design with massive diffusers, prominent side skirts, and a large GT rear wing with a swan-neck design for better aerodynamics. Not to forget, the racer also rides on a set of centre-locked wheels shod in racing slicks.
As of now, Lamborghini has yet to release any interior images of the new Temerario Super Trofeo, but the automaker did say that the track-only racer will feature a fully integrated, FIA-compliant roll cage setup and a revamped dashboard wrapped in Dinamica Infinity, which is the “world’s first 100% PES mono-component non-woven suede for automotive.”

The all-new Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo is slated to make its racing debut sometime later in 2027, where it will be used to compete in Lambo’s Super Trofeo single-make racing series around the world, including the Asian region. With this confirmation, this also means that 2026 will be the last Super Trofeo season to feature the Huracan Super Trofeo racecar, which was first used back in 2015 to replace the original Gallardo Super Trofeo.
