Perodua Projected to Record 359,000 Units of Vehicle Sales This Year

Perodua is now on track to break its sales record this year, with 359,000 units projected for 2025.
Besides developing and launching its first EV in just two years’ time, Perodua is also on track to break its own annual sales record this year, as the national automaker is projected to record 359,000 units of vehicle sales by the end of 2025.

Perodua President & CEO Dato' Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad
This was announced by Perodua president and CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad during the launch of the Perodua QV-E yesterday, where this figure will help the second national automaker to retain its title as the best-selling car brand this year.
For context, Perodua’s previous record-breaking sales figure came last year at 358,102 units, which not only cemented its position as the undisputed leader of vehicle sales in Malaysia but also among the top brands in the ASEAN region.

Perodua’s 358,102 sales figure back in 2024 was enough to put it second among ASEAN’s top-selling car brands, with the number one ranking still held by parent company Toyota at approximately 714,000 units. What made this feat more impressive is the fact that the bulk of its sales came from local consumption, as the brand only exported a small volume of its vehicles to other ASEAN countries like Brunei.

Should Perodua manage to reach the projected 359,000-unit sales target by the end of the year, the national automaker is expected to maintain its position as the second largest automaker in ASEAN for 2025.
Way earlier this year, P2’s initial production and sales target for 2025 were actually lower than its record-breaking feat in 2024, with the automaker previously projecting 345,000 units, which was 3.7% down from the 358,102 units registered in the previous year.
