Rapid KL Travel Pass Prices Increase from Jan 1, 2026

Prasarana Malaysia Bhd has announced a revision to the prices of selected Rapid KL travel passes, with the new rates set to take effect from Jan 1, 2026. The adjustment is aimed at supporting the continued expansion of the public transport network while ensuring long-term service stability and sustainability.
The company said the revision follows a comprehensive review of travel patterns, network growth, service improvements and rising operational costs. It added that the move is necessary to sustain reliable and safe public transport services as demand continues to grow.

Prasarana group acting chief stakeholder experience and marketing officer Ashok Panchalingam said the revised pricing reflects current usage trends and the expanded scale of Rapid KL’s rail and bus operations. Despite the changes, he stressed that Rapid KL passes will continue to offer strong value through consistent savings, cashless convenience and an improving mobility experience.
He noted that the price adjustment aligns with the transformation of Rapid KL’s rail and bus network, which is now significantly more comprehensive than it was a decade ago. This includes the opening of the Kajang Line in 2016 and the Putrajaya Line in 2022, alongside additional bus routes, wider area coverage and higher service frequencies.

The upcoming revision marks the first adjustment to Rapid KL travel pass prices since 2009. Prasarana said this takes into account the steady increase in operating and maintenance costs over the years, while reaffirming its commitment to keeping safety and service reliability at the highest standards.
From Jan 1, 2026, the Rapid Kota pass for Malaysian citizens will be priced at RM10 for a one-day pass and RM25 for a three-day pass, with the two-day option no longer offered. The Rapid Kembara pass will be priced at RM25 for one day and RM55 for three days, also without a two-day option.

The Rapid Keluarga pass for Malaysian citizens will be priced at RM30. For students, concession discounts remain exclusive to Malaysian citizens, while non-citizen students with existing passes will continue to enjoy a 50% discount until the pass expires or Dec 31, 2026, whichever comes first. New student pass applications from 2026 will be limited to Malaysian citizens.
Prasarana is also introducing a new 30-day Rapid Bulanan pass priced at RM150, available to both Malaysian and non-Malaysian users. The company said this responds to growing demand from expatriates and long-term visitors who rely on Rapid KL rail and bus services daily.
Meanwhile, the My50 pass as well as Rapid Emas and Rapid Mesra concession cards will remain unchanged in price. Prasarana said this reflects its ongoing commitment to affordable and inclusive public transport, particularly for groups that require additional support.
More information on the revised travel pass prices and products can be found on Rapid KL’s official website and social media channels.
