KTM Berhad took to its Facebook and announced that Women's-Only coach and train sections have been reinstated across its Klang Valley train services.

Starting today (Feb 13), train operators KTM Berhad have reinstated Women’s-Only coach sections for the KTM Komuter service in the Klang Valley. Announced via Facebook, this scheme was temporarily halted in light of the recent festive Thaipusam religious holiday earlier this week.

Aptly, commuters are reminded that the Women’s-Only sections are reserved exclusively for ladies – male passengers are strictly not allowed to enter these sections. We’ll also add that these sections are clearly marked with bright pink markings, meaning they’re hard to miss.

Additionally, KTM Komuter’s Women’s-Only coach sections are positioned in the middle of the train. The usual format here sees these section placed in coaches C and D for six-car trains, and coach B fore three-car trains.

This is indeed similar to what’s practiced across both the MRT and LRT services operated Rapid Rail. Women’s-Only coach and train sections have been available on the MRT Kajang Line since Sept 2023, and on the MRT Putrajaya Line since April 2024.

More recently, Rapid began designating Women’s-Only sections for the LRT Ampang/Sri Petaling Line starting Dec 31,2024.
