2026 BYD Song Pro DM-i, Qin L & Qin Plus PHEVs Gain Long Range Variants
New 2026 BYD Song Pro DM-i Long Range variant is set to enter showrooms across China starting from 10 Jan onwards.

BYD recently previewed new Long Range variants of both its Song Pro DM-i crossover and both its Qin L and Qin Plus saloon models. All three have gained an improved iteration of the marque’s DM-i plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain setup that yields longer electric range.
Starting with the new Song Pro DM-i Long Range, this variant marks an addition to the existing second-generation Song Pro DM-i model line-up, and it focuses on extending pure-electric driving range through the adoption of a larger battery pack.

A larger new battery pack with a still undisclosed capacity leads the bill for the this crossover, and sources report it will yield up to 200 KM of electric-only range .

BYD has not officially disclosed technical specifications or pricing for this new Long Rage variant, though Chinese sources online report that the larger new battery pack this variant is set to adopt yields up to 200 KM of CLTC-rated electric-only range.
For reference, the existing 2026 BYD Song Pro DM-i variant employs a PHEV powertrain that pairs a 1.5-litre petrol mill with an e-motor. For which, up to 133 KM of electric-only range and up to 1,508 KM of combined petrol-electric range are touted.
Also gaining an improved DM-i PHEV heart is the Qin L saloon, and its new 26.6 kWh battery pack promises up to 210 KM of CLTC-rated electric-only range too.

New Long Range guises of both the Qin L (Seal 06) and Qin Plus gain a similar treatment as confirmed core updates to both lie in their improved PHEV powertrains. Similarly, increased electric range figures are being touted from which.
In the Qin L DM-i Long Range variant, it now adopts a 26.6 kWh battery pack that reported yields up to 210 KM of CLTC-rated electric-only range – the previous version only charted 129 KM instead. This variant will also ride on BYD’s trick DiSus-C intelligent dampers.

There are no visual or aesthetic changes to note. Enhanced PHEV heart aside, this saloon is also set to ride on DiSus C intelligent dampers and harness BYD's "God's Eye C" ADAS package.

Part of the key updates here also focuses on configuration and hardware revisions. It will also come brimmed with BYD’s trick new DiLink 6.0 infotainment suite and “God’s Eye C” driver assistance (ADAS) package.
As a refresher, the latter ADAS tech supports a myriad of intelligent driving assists for highway navigation, autonomous parking, as well as urban memory navigation, Chinese sources online report.

As for the Qin Plus DM-i Long Range, this PHEV saloon continues to use a 1.5-litre petrol mill and e-motor setup that's now improved to deliver up to 210 KM (CLTC) too.
The Qin Plus DM-i Long Range continues to use a PHEV heart that pairs a 1.5-litre petrol mill with an e-motor outputting 74 kW (100 PS) and 126 Nm. Again, up to 210 KM of CLTC-rated electric-only range is touted here.
Shared larger new battery pack mentioned explains which, marking a huge improvement from the previous version too that only yielded electric ranges of roughly between 43 KM and 90 KM before the hybrid system switches over to engine operation.
Expect more details to surface once the Song Pro DM-i Long Range arrives on showroom floors across China starting from Jan 10 onwards. As for the Qin L and Qin Plus Long Range PHEV saloons duo, both are set to arrive at dealers earlier on Jan 8 instead.
