Chery iCaur V27 Rolls Out as Brand’s First EREV SUV

Chery’s iCaur V27 has officially rolled off the production line in China, marking a major milestone for the brand’s largest and most technologically ambitious model to date.
Pre-orders for the five-seat off-road SUV opened in Dec 2025, with its official market launch scheduled for the first quarter of this year. Crucially, the V27 is also the first extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) to sit under the iCaur badge.

Visually, the iCaur V27 stays true to classic off-road SUV proportions. It adopts a boxy, upright silhouette highlighted by a narrow grille, square headlamp housings with distinctive circular lighting signatures, and a purposeful stance.
Rugged detailing comes in the form of black fender cladding, a silver-finished front skid plate, vertically stacked taillights, and a side-hinged tailgate with an externally mounted spare wheel.

At launch, buyers can choose from five exterior colours: silver, yellow, beige, black and blue. Viewed from the side, the V27 closely mirrors the squared, muscular profile of the smaller V23, complete with chunky pillars and a pronounced shoulder line.
One standout feature is the functional module on the front side panel, which integrates NFC detection and camera hardware, pointing towards smart access and advanced driver assistance capabilities.

In terms of size, the V27 firmly plants itself in the mid-to-large SUV segment. It measures 4,909 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width and 1,855 mm in height, extending to 1,894 mm depending on configuration. A long 2,910 mm wheelbase further reinforces its upmarket positioning.
Inside, the V27 continues iCaur’s family-oriented cabin theme, with subtle refinements over the V23. A floating central touchscreen dominates the dashboard and serves as the sole display, combining both infotainment and instrumentation duties into a single interface.

Despite the screen-heavy layout, physical buttons are retained for key functions. The centre console also houses a wireless charging pad and a rotary drive mode selector, while rear passengers benefit from three proper seats and dedicated air-conditioning vents, underscoring the SUV’s practical focus.
Under the skin, the iCaur V27 introduces the brand’s first range-extender powertrain. The system pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 105 kW (141 HP) with single or dual e-motors. Two battery options have been confirmed so far, rated at 34.317 kWh and 20.638 kWh, though detailed battery chemistry has yet to be disclosed.

Both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations will be offered. The RWD variant produces up to 185 kW (248 hp), while the AWD flagship delivers a substantial 335 kW (449 hp). In AWD form, the V27 is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, offer a CLTC-rated pure electric range of up to 210 KM, and achieve a combined driving range of around 1,200 KM.
In its home market, the iCar V27 is expected to go on sale in Q1 2026, priced between RMB200,000 (RM116,000) and RMB300,000 (RM175,000). In Malaysia meanwhile, Chery’s aggressive expansion of its model range and dealer network, coupled with the group’s push towards hybrid powertrains, might just mean the V27 may not be far behind.
