Hyundai Staria Electric Debuts with 800V, 400km Range

Hyundai has unveiled the all-new Staria Electric at the Brussels Motor Show, marking the brand’s popular MPV’s move into fully electric territory. It brings zero-emission driving to a segment where space, comfort and everyday usability matter most.
Aimed at families, leisure users and shuttle operators, the Staria Electric offers a practical EV alternative without sacrificing room or flexibility while retaining the familiar Staria silhouette with subtle EV-specific design cues.

Power comes from an 84 kWh battery paired with a front-wheel driven e-motor producing 160 kW (218 hp) and 350 Nm of torque. Hyundai estimates a WLTP driving range of up to 400 km, placing it among the longer-range EV MPVs in its class.

One of the Staria Electric’s key highlights is its 800V electrical system, a setup more commonly seen in Hyundai’s IONIQ EVs. This allows fast DC charging from 10-80% in around 20 minutes, helping to minimise downtime on longer journeys.

Unlike the IONIQ line-up, however, the Staria Electric is not built on Hyundai’s dedicated E-GMP architecture. Instead, it adapts the existing N3 multi-energy platform, allowing the model to retain its familiar proportions and interior packaging.
On the road, the electric drivetrain delivers smooth, quiet performance, creating a more relaxed experience for both drivers and passengers. Revised suspension tuning and added sound insulation further enhance comfort, even when the vehicle is fully loaded.

Hyundai’s ‘Inside-Out’ design philosophy continues to shape the Staria Electric, with its long body, low beltline and expansive glass areas prioritising cabin space and outward visibility. A closed front fascia gives the MPV a more modern, EV-focused look.
Inside, the Staria Electric offers a bright, lounge-like cabin with a flat floor and high roofline. The flexible interior layout makes it easy to switch between family use, passenger transport or leisure activities, while wide sliding doors and a large tailgate improve everyday access.

The Staria Electric also features dual 12.3-inch displays, Hyundai’s latest infotainment system with over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Digital Key and high-power USB ports. V2L functionality also allows the MPV to power external devices for work or outdoor use.

Safety meanwhile is handled by Hyundai SmartSense ADAS, which includes forward collision avoidance, lane keeping and lane following assist, highway driving assist, blind-spot monitoring and a surround-view camera system to support confident driving in daily situations.
At launch, the Staria Electric will be offered in a seven-seat Luxury variant and a nine-seat version aimed at larger families or shuttle operators. Production will begin in Ulsan, South Korea, with sales scheduled to start in Korea and Europe in H1 2026.
