Wisedrive AI-powered Used Car Inspection Ecosystem Launched

Officially launched in Malaysia today was the novel Wisedrive AI-powered used car inspection tech that encompasses a full ecosystem - smartphone app included.

Malaysia welcomed its very first all-in-one used car inspection tech powered using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Called Wisedrive, its ecosystem – which includes an app – was showcased to local press at the Unipac Engineering headquarters in Glenmarie, Shah Alam earlier today.

Notably, Malaysia marks the first market in South East Asia (ASEAN) to see this tech and its ecosystem launched. Beyond which, plans are underway to expand the availability of this tech and ecosystem in neighbouring Thailand and Indonesia within the first quarter (Q1) of this year too.

Local press were given a hands-on demonstration in today's showcase where we were given first-hand experience of the tech's app and ecosystem.

“We aim to pioneer Wisedrive’s expansion and localisation in Malaysia, while bringing strong product capability and regional experience to the local market,” expressed Wisedrive Malaysia Country Manager Hafiz Zubir in his opening remarks earlier today. Present alongside him too was Wisedrive Southeast Asia CEO Philipp Moeller.

“By standardising inspection, diagnostics, and risk data, the system also enables banks, insurers and, dealers to price vehicles more accurately while reducing operational risks,” explained Moeller further. Part of today’s showcase included a live and hands-on demonstration using the Wisedrive user app for press members present to experience.

Wisedrive touts its AI-enhanced strength, notably with detecting problems that can't be inspected with human eyes and ears.

Wisedrive works by comparing visual and audio data against thousands of known problems detected and identified by the AI system, including problems that cannot be inspected with human eyes and ears. In short, Wisedrive users can detect issues using images, videos and sounds captured and submitted by users via their smartphones.

Key to  things is here cutting edge machine learning, computer vision and acoustic processing technology analysing 150,000 visual and 31 million audio datasets covering 8,245 car models and variants – local marques Proton and Perodua included, along with their early models launched since their respective 1985 and 1994 founding years.

Another game-changer is how inspections are performed with Wisedrive, and the comprehensive report it produces – it delivers engine analyses 20-times more accurate versus manual inspections. Through which, its developers claim it can minimise up to 95% of human error, and it shortens inspection times by up to 75% too.
