The BMW i7 is the fully electric flagship sedan of BMW’s 7 Series family, combining limousine-level rear passenger comfort with a powerful dual-motor electric drivetrain.

The current Malaysian line-up consists solely of the i7 xDrive60 M Sport, priced at RM714,800 on-the-road without insurance. The newer facelifted i7 revealed globally has not yet replaced the Malaysian-market model.

Its dual electric motors produce 400 KW (536 HP) and 745 NM, driving all four wheels. A 105.7 KWH gross lithium-ion battery with 101.7 KWH usable capacity provides up to 625 KM WLTP range.

The i7 features BMW’s curved digital display arrangement comprising a 12.3-INCH digital instrument cluster and 14.9-INCH central touchscreen.

A backlit BMW Interaction Bar extends across the dashboard and into the doors, combining ambient lighting with touch-sensitive vehicle controls.

Crafted Clarity crystal controls and premium decorative trim further reinforce its flagship positioning.

Front occupants receive electrically adjustable comfort seats with heating, ventilation and memory functions.

The cabin is upholstered in BMW Individual Merino leather.

Rear passengers receive electrically adjustable Executive Lounge seating, including lumbar adjustment, massage functionality and an extended leg-rest arrangement for the rear executive passenger.

The i7 accommodates five occupants, although its cabin is particularly focused on rear-seat passengers.

Both motors provide immediate torque without requiring conventional multi-speed gear changes.

Despite weighing more than 2.7 tonnes, the i7 xDrive60 accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in 4.7 seconds.

Maximum speed is electronically limited to 240 KM/H.

Its 745 NM of immediately available torque provides particularly strong acceleration for such a large luxury sedan.

The i7 features four-zone automatic climate control, providing separate temperature adjustment for front and rear occupants.

Dedicated rear air vents and rear passenger controls allow chauffeur-driven occupants to manage their own climate settings.

The 5.5-inch rear Touch Command displays can also be used to adjust climate functions.

The BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport is one of the most extravagant electric luxury sedans available in Malaysia, placing as much emphasis on the rear passenger experience as on driving performance.

Its 536 HP and 745 NM dual-motor drivetrain delivers 0-100 KM/H in just 4.7 seconds, while the large battery provides a useful 625 KM WLTP range.

Its defining features are found inside, where Executive Lounge seating, powered doors, four-zone climate control, Sky Lounge panoramic roof, rear massage and ventilation functions and the enormous 31.3-inch BMW Theatre Screen transform the rear cabin into a genuine luxury lounge.

The principal weakness is its older 400-VOLT charging architecture. 195 KW DC charging remains respectable but is increasingly modest compared with newer flagship EVs using 800- or 900-VOLT systems.

At RM714,800, the i7 is unquestionably expensive, but its combination of luxury, technology, performance and chauffeur-focused comfort makes it one of BMW Malaysia’s most complete flagship models.
