Malaysia received a single fully imported EV6 GT-Line AWD variant. Its final official Peninsular Malaysia on-the-road price without insurance stood at RM319,668.

Power comes from dual electric motors producing a combined 239 KW (320 HP) and 605 NM, paired with a 77.4 KWH lithium-ion battery. Maximum driving range is 506 KM WLTP, while 0-100 KM/H takes 5.2 seconds.

The Malaysian EV6 is no longer sold new, and the newer facelifted 84 KWH version introduced internationally was never launched locally.

The cabin centres around a curved dual-screen arrangement comprising two 12.3-INCH displays.

One serves as the fully digital instrument cluster, while the second functions as the central infotainment touchscreen.

The dashboard adopts a driver-focused layout with relatively few conventional buttons and extensive horizontal trim.

A floating centre console creates additional storage beneath the main control area.

It incorporates a rotary Shift-By-Wire gear selector, cup holders, wireless smartphone charging and vehicle controls.

The EV6 comes with a comprehensive Kia Drive Wise assistance package.

Functions include Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning functionality.

Also included are Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning and High Beam Assist.

Remote Smart Parking Assist allows the EV6 to move forwards or backwards using the key fob and can also assist with parallel or perpendicular parking.

The EV6 GT-Line features a premium 14-speaker Meridian sound system.

Being fully electric, the EV6 uses two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors, with one positioned at each axle.

The Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD remains one of the most technically significant EVs introduced to Malaysia, particularly because of its dedicated E-GMP architecture and extremely rapid charging capability.

Its 320 HP and 605 NM dual-motor drivetrain delivers 0-100 KM/H in 5.2 seconds, while the 77.4 KWH battery provides 506 KM WLTP range.

Its equipment list was also particularly comprehensive, including Premium Relaxation front seats, ventilation, 14-speaker Meridian audio, powered sunroof, 360-degree camera, Blind-Spot View Monitor and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The key technical highlight remains its 800-VOLT architecture, allowing a 10-80% recharge in only approximately 18 minutes when connected to suitable high-powered DC infrastructure.

However, its final RM319,668 OTR price placed it well into premium-brand territory, and the Malaysian EV6 was eventually discontinued without the newer facelifted 84 KWH model being introduced locally.

Despite that, its combination of 506 KM WLTP range, AWD performance, V2L capability and ultra-fast charging means the EV6 remains an impressive benchmark among the earlier generation of dedicated-platform EVs sold in Malaysia.
