Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ SUV

The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ SUV is the rear-wheel-drive version of Mercedes-Benz’s X294 electric luxury SUV, positioned below the more powerful EQE 500 4MATIC SUV.

Introduced in Malaysia in May 2024, the EQE 350+ SUV is offered in two variants – Electric Art Line and AMG Line – priced at RM398,888 and RM448,888 respectively, on-the-road without insurance.

Both use the same single rear-mounted electric motor producing 215 KW (288 HP) and 565 NM, paired with a 90.56 KWH lithium-ion battery. Maximum range is rated at 596 KM WLTP, while 0-100 KM/H takes 6.7 seconds.

The EQE 350+ SUV features a highly digital dashboard dominated by its MBUX displays.

A 12.3-INCH digital instrument display sits ahead of the driver, while a large 17.7-INCH OLED central touchscreen provides access to infotainment, navigation and vehicle functions.

Active ambient lighting extends across the dashboard and doors, helping create the distinctive high-tech atmosphere associated with Mercedes-Benz’s EQ range.

A floating centre console separates the two front occupants while providing storage and connectivity functions.

The drive selector is mounted on the steering column, freeing the console for cup holders, storage compartments and wireless smartphone charging.

Both wheel designs are aerodynamically optimised to reduce turbulence and improve electric efficiency.

Both variants support an unusually strong 22 KW AC charging rate, allowing a 0-100% recharge in approximately 4 hours 45 minutes.

Maximum DC fast charging stands at 170 KW, with a 10-80% recharge taking approximately 32 minutes under suitable conditions.

Standard convenience equipment includes KEYLESS-GO, HANDS-FREE ACCESS, powered tailgate, automatic wipers and wireless smartphone charging.

The Electric Art Line features active ambient lighting and multi-zone climate control.

The AMG Line adds a panoramic sunroof, ENERGIZING Package and AIR-BALANCE Package, further enhancing its luxury positioning.

Both variants feature THERMOTRONIC multi-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear air vents.

Rear occupants therefore receive direct airflow rather than relying solely on the front ventilation system.

The AMG Line’s AIR-BALANCE Package further enhances cabin air filtration and fragrance functionality.

The Electric Art Line uses conventional Comfort Suspension, tuned primarily for smooth and relaxed driving.

The AMG Line receives a significant chassis upgrade with AIRMATIC air suspension.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ SUV offers the long-distance range and luxury-focused character of the larger Mercedes-Benz EQ family without requiring the more powerful dual-motor EQE 500 4MATIC drivetrain.

Both Malaysian variants deliver 288 HP, 565 NM, rear-wheel drive and 596 KM WLTP range, while 22 KW AC and 170 KW DC charging provide respectable charging performance.

At RM398,888, the Electric Art Line provides the same drivetrain and range while retaining DIGITAL LIGHT, active ambient lighting, MBUX and the Driving Assistance Plus Package.

The RM448,888 AMG Line demands RM50,000 more but adds substantial equipment rather than additional power, including AIRMATIC air suspension, 10-degree rear-axle steering, panoramic sunroof, Burmester 3D audio, Head-Up Display, sports seats and the Acoustic Comfort Package.

For buyers prioritising value and range, the Electric Art Line is the more rational choice, while the AMG Line delivers the substantially richer chassis and luxury experience expected from a high-end Mercedes-Benz electric SUV.
