2025 BMW iX Facelift Brings A Slew Of Light Upgrades

BMW has refresh the iX EV crossover SUV for 2025.
Besides the M3 CS Touring super-estate, German automaker BMW also unwrapped a face-lifted version of one of its best-selling electric (EV) crossovers. Pictured here is the refreshed 2025 BMW iX, and it has gained a slew of small yet substantial upgrades all around.
The variant range has been streamlined for the 2025 model year (2025MY), and it starts with a new xDrive45 base variant. Above which comes a new mid-specced xDrive60, whilst a new M70 xDrive guise now replaces the outgoing M60 guise as the new performance flagship.

M Sport package is now available optionally for the first time, and the difference in style with (below) and without (top) it is pretty significant.
Visually, the 2025 BMW iX gets redesigned adaptive LED headlights with new LED DRLs pattern, new kidney grilles design, as well as revised reverse lights and rear fog lamps combination. Critically, the xDrive45 and xDrive60 guises gains the M Sport Package option for the first time.
Typically, the M70 xDrive rocks the M Sport Package as standard and, in this 2025MY refresh, said aerokit has been made to look sharper and angrier than before. There’s also an M Sport Package Pro that adds M Shadow Line lights and vertical reflectors.

Continuing with the aesthetics changes, the 2025 BMW iX sees its cabin come standard with the Atelier design package now. Other options offered include Loft and Suite, each boasting their own distinct trim material and colourways, while M Sport package brings a host of sporty touches.
Whilst on the cabin still, the BMW Curved Display module is retained, but both the 12.3-inch instrumentation and 14.9-inch infotainment are now powered using the latest BMW Operating System 8.5 with Quick Select.

Both the new iX xDrive45 and iX xDrive60 variants gain a larger battery plus peppier e-motors with increased range.
Moving on to the mechanical changes, the base iX xDrive45 firstly gains peppier e-motors that now boasts 402 HP and 700 NM total combined outputs. This enables 0-100 KM/H sprints in 5.1 secs whilst enroute towards a capped 200 KM/H V-max.
Critically, the xDrive45 gains a larger 94.8 kWh battery pack that now provides between 490 KM and 602 KM of WLTP-rated range. As for charging, 22 kW AC is optionally available besides the standard 11 kW AC, whereas DC charging input is capped at 175 kW.

New mid-specced xDrive 60 has up to 701 KM of maximum WLTP range. It also boasts a higher 195 kW DC charging input.
Step up into the mid-specced xDrive60 variant and its dual e-motors put out higher outputs of 536 HP and 765 NM. In turn, this enables a quicker 0-100 KM/H dash in just 4.6 secs, but V-max remains capped electronically at 200 KM/H.
Increased here too is battery capacity, which reads at 109.1 kWh now to provide between 563 KM and 701 KM of WLTP-rated range. The bigger battery size also brings higher DC charging input abilities at 195 kW on top of the standard 11 kW and optional 22 kW AC charging abilities.

As the new performance flagship, the M70 xDrive has 650 HP and 1,015 NM (or 1,100 NM) available, and this enables 0-100 KM/H in just 3.5 secs.
As for the M70 xDrive performance flagship, its 650 HP and whopping 1,015 NM (1,100 NM with Launch Control) outputs sees 0-100 KM/H dashes despatched in just 3.8 secs. This variant also gets a higher electronically-capped V-max of 250 KM/H.
Weirdly, this range-topper gets a slightly smaller 108.9 kWh battery capacity versus the xDrive60’s pack, but it still provides respectable WLTP-rated range figures between 521 KM and 600 KM. Charging abilities and speeds remain identical in this flagship as the xDrive60 guise mentioned.

Both 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging inputs are available, but the latter is offered as an option. Only the higher two guises boasts up to 195 kW DC charging input.
Lastly, this refreshed 2025MY version sees Driving Assistant Plus primed as standard. Driving Assistant Professional is optionally available and brings added evasion assistant, active lane-change, and an adaptive cruise control with a higher operational speed.
Also new is a Highway Assistant option that allows Level 2+ automated driving in markets that allow it (i.e. Germany and North America). This lets drivers take their hands off the wheel and let the vehicle will drive itself on dual carriageways with separate lanes at speeds of up to 130 KM/H.

Expect the refreshed 2025MY BMW iX t make landfall here in Malaysia soon enough this year.
Besides that, Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant and Parking Assistant Professional are available, and there’s the BMW ConnectedDrive store available for customers purchase upgrades.
With its global debut this week, we can perhaps expect to see this refreshed 2025 BMW iX make landfall in Malaysia soon enough this year. In the meantime, are you digging all the changes? Which variant would you opt for? Share your thoughts in the comments below…
