A major cabin highlight is the panoramic sliding sunroof with sunshade, which gives the interior a significantly more open feeling.

The Neta X features single-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear air-conditioning vents.

Second-row occupants therefore receive direct airflow from vents positioned at the rear of the centre console.

The Neta X uses MacPherson strut suspension at the front and a multi-link independent rear arrangement.

The multi-link rear setup is relatively sophisticated for an EV at this price point and provides better individual wheel control than a simpler torsion-beam design.

Its 2,770 MM wheelbase and 225/60 R18 tyres also contribute to a generally comfort-oriented ride.

The Neta X offers substantial physical size and cabin practicality for its RM119,900 price.

The current Malaysian range has been reduced to just the 400 Comfort, which combines a 160 HP and 210 NM front motor, 52.49 KWH LFP battery and 401 KM claimed range.

Its strongest attributes are practicality and equipment, particularly the 508 L boot, 2,770 MM wheelbase, panoramic sliding sunroof, powered driver’s seat, 15.6-inch touchscreen, eight-speaker audio, 360-degree camera and 3.3 KW V2L.

However, the current base specification also exposes the Neta X’s weaknesses. 65 KW DC charging, a 9.5-second 0-100 KM/H time and the absence of AEB, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring leave it behind several newer EVs around the same price.

With newer models such as the Jaecoo J5 EV offering faster charging and considerably more comprehensive ADAS for similar money, the Neta X’s main appeal now rests on its generous interior and cargo space rather than class-leading EV technology.
