GWM Ora 07

The GWM ORA 07 is a fully electric four-door fastback positioned above the ORA Good Cat, combining distinctive coupé-inspired styling with a large battery and an extensive comfort and safety specification.

It was launched in Malaysia with two variants – Long Range Ultra and Performance – priced at RM169,800 and RM189,800 respectively. Both were fully imported from China.

The Long Range Ultra produces 150 KW (201 HP) and 340 NM through a single front motor, while the Performance uses dual motors and all-wheel drive to deliver 300 KW (402 HP) and 680 NM.

Both use an 83.5 KWH NMC battery, with Malaysian launch figures of 640 KM NEDC for the Long Range Ultra and 550 KM NEDC for the Performance. The Performance was subsequently quoted at 483 KM WLTP.

As of 2026, the ORA 07 is no longer listed in GWM Malaysia’s current new-car line-up, so the prices above represent its last official Malaysian selling prices.

The ORA 07 combines retro-inspired detailing with a modern digital cabin.

A distinctive 10.25-INCH tri-gauge digital instrument cluster sits directly ahead of the driver, while a freestanding 12.3-INCH central touchscreen handles infotainment and vehicle functions.

Metallic trim, flowing dashboard surfaces and extensive leather-like materials give the cabin a more premium character than the ORA Good Cat.

A prominent T-shaped centre console runs between the front seats.

It incorporates rotary controls, storage areas and smartphone charging, while the electronic drive selector is mounted on the steering column.

This arrangement provides a clean and relatively spacious front-cabin layout.

A distinctive 10.25-INCH digital instrument cluster uses three circular display sections to provide a retro-inspired interpretation of traditional analogue gauges.

It displays speed, battery state, range, assistance functions and driving information.

A Head-Up Display is also standard, projecting important information onto the windscreen.

Both front seats are electrically adjustable, with a six-way powered driver’s seat and four-way powered front passenger seat.

Front-seat equipment includes ventilation and massage functions, while the driver also receives memory and welcome functions.

The rear bench folds in a 60:40 split and incorporates a centre armrest and adjustable headrests.

The ORA 07 accommodates five occupants.

Its substantial 2,870 MM wheelbase provides generous rear legroom, while the wide body offers good shoulder room across both seating rows.

The sloping fastback roofline slightly compromises rear headroom compared with a conventional upright sedan, but overall passenger space remains generous.

A three-spoke leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel provides controls for audio and vehicle functions.

Both tilt and telescopic adjustment are available manually.

Three steering assistance settings – Light, Comfort and Sport – allow drivers to alter steering weight.

Storage areas include a large centre-console compartment, glove box, front and rear door pockets and seatback pockets.

The cabin provides several smaller spaces for personal items and mobile devices.

The ORA 07 provides three dedicated cup holders.

One is positioned within the front centre console, while another two are integrated into the rear centre armrest.

Additional bottle holders are provided within all four doors.

The cabin provides four USB ports, with two for front occupants and another two for the rear.

A 50 W wireless smartphone charger and 12 V power socket are also fitted.

The vehicle itself additionally supports 3.3 KW Vehicle-to-Load functionality for powering compatible external electrical equipment.

The ORA 07 combines soft-touch materials, leather-like upholstery and metallic detailing with a distinctive premium design.

The Long Range Ultra was offered with a black interior, with brown available as an option, while the Performance came with the brown interior as standard.

A 256-colour ambient lighting system and expansive panoramic glass roof further enhance the cabin atmosphere.

Rear luggage capacity stands at 333 L.

While adequate for everyday use, the boot is relatively small considering the ORA 07’s nearly 4.9-metre overall length.

The powered tailgate and split-folding rear seats improve overall cargo versatility.

The ORA 07 measures 4,871 MM long, 1,862 MM wide and 1,500 MM tall, with a 2,870 MM wheelbase.

Its long, low body is paired with an aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.22 CD, helping maximise electric driving efficiency.

The ORA 07 adopts a distinctive rounded front design inspired by classic sports cars.

A forward-sloping bonnet sits between pronounced front fenders, while the largely enclosed nose incorporates an active lower air-intake grille that opens when additional cooling is required.

Flush door handles, frameless windows and smooth body surfacing further contribute to its aerodynamic appearance.

The rear adopts a flowing fastback roofline and broad rear fenders.

One of its signature features is an electrically deployable active rear spoiler, which can automatically extend depending on vehicle speed and driving conditions.

A powered tailgate provides access to the luggage compartment.

The ORA 07 features distinctive oval-shaped Intelligent LED headlamps.

Equipment includes LED daytime running lights, automatic headlamp operation, Follow-Me-Home lighting and High Beam Assist.

Full-LED rear combination lamps feature rounded lighting graphics that echo the shape of the front headlamps.

Slim LED rear fog lamps are positioned lower within the bumper.

The exterior mirrors are electrically adjustable, automatically folding and heated.

Blind Spot Detection warning indicators are incorporated into the mirror housings.

A dedicated Car Wash Mode can automatically fold the mirrors and close other exterior components when activated.

The ORA 07 uses ventilated front disc brakes and solid rear discs.

The Long Range Ultra features silver brake callipers, while the Performance receives distinctive red-painted callipers.

Electronic Parking Brake, Auto Hold, Brake Electronic Booster and three levels of regenerative braking are also provided.

The Long Range Ultra rides on 18-INCH multi-spoke alloy wheels fitted with 235/50 R18 Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 EV tyres.

The Performance upgrades to 19-INCH two-tone alloy wheels wrapped in 235/45 R19 Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres.

Active safety equipment includes ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Roll Movement Intervention and Hill Start Assist.

The ORA 07 also features Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction assistance and low-speed emergency braking.

Front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree Surround View camera system provide additional assistance during manoeuvring.

The ORA 07 features six airbags, comprising front airbags, front-side airbags and full-length curtain airbags.

Other equipment includes ISOFIX child-seat mounting points, pretensioning seat belts, seatbelt reminders, automatic collision unlocking and an Event Data Recorder.

Its passenger structure uses a high proportion of high-strength steel, with GWM quoting 77.6% high-strength materials within key sections of the body structure.

The Long Range Ultra provides five modes – Normal, Well-Being, Sport, Eco and Individual.

The Performance adds a sixth Sport+ mode, allowing its dual-motor drivetrain to deliver its maximum performance.

Three steering settings and three regenerative-braking levels provide further adjustment.

A 12.3-INCH touchscreen provides the main infotainment interface.

Functions include navigation, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Super I Space system also provides special cabin presets such as Sweet Mode and Cave Time, coordinating ambient lighting and selected cabin settings.

The ORA 07 features a comprehensive Level 2 driver-assistance suite.

Systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent Cruise Assistance, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping, Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist.

Also included are Front Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with braking, Door Opening Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Assistance and Intelligent Evade.

Integrated Intelligent Parking provides additional automated parking functionality.

Audio is delivered through an 11-speaker Infinity premium sound system.

The branded setup provides a noticeably more sophisticated audio experience than the simpler system used in the ORA Good Cat.

Being fully electric, the ORA 07 uses permanent magnet synchronous electric motors instead of a combustion engine.

The Long Range Ultra features a single front-mounted motor producing 150 KW (201 HP) and 340 NM.

The Performance combines front and rear motors for a total output of 300 KW (402 HP) and 680 NM.

Both variants use a single-speed automatic electric reduction transmission.

Electric torque is delivered without conventional multi-speed gear changes.

The Long Range Ultra uses front-wheel drive, with its single motor powering the front axle.

The Performance adds a second motor at the rear to create a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.

The Long Range Ultra accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in 7.9 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 170 KM/H.

The much more powerful Performance completes the same sprint in just 4.3 seconds, with top speed increasing to 180 KM/H.

As a fully electric vehicle, the ORA 07 consumes no petrol or diesel.

Both variants use an 83.5 KWH NMC lithium-ion battery.

At its Malaysian launch, GWM quoted 640 KM NEDC for the Long Range Ultra and 550 KM NEDC for the Performance. The Performance was later rated at approximately 483 KM WLTP.

Both support 11 KW AC charging.

Maximum DC charging is 88 KW, with a 30-80% recharge requiring approximately 32 minutes under suitable conditions.

A 3.3 KW V2L function allows the high-voltage battery to power compatible external devices.

Convenience features include keyless entry, Intelligent Quick Start, powered front seats, powered tailgate and one-touch electric windows.

Also included are automatic wipers, automatic headlamps, wireless smartphone charging, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a large 1.7 M² panoramic glass roof.

Car Wash Mode automatically manages the windows, mirrors and rear spoiler to prepare the vehicle for an automated wash.

The ORA 07 features three-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear air vents.

An air-quality management system, PM2.5 filtration and automatic windscreen defogging are also provided.

The ORA 07 uses MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link independent rear suspension.

The Long Range Ultra is primarily tuned towards comfort, while the Performance’s larger wheels and higher-output AWD drivetrain give it a slightly firmer and more performance-oriented character.

Its long wheelbase and low-mounted battery contribute to good stability during highway cruising.

The electric powertrain produces very little mechanical noise or vibration.

The ORA 07 additionally uses acoustic glass for the windscreen and front side windows, helping suppress wind and exterior noise.

Its streamlined 0.22 CD body also contributes to relatively low wind noise at higher speeds.

The GWM ORA 07 offered an unusual combination of retro-inspired styling, long-range capability and extensive standard equipment when it entered Malaysia.

The RM169,800 Long Range Ultra prioritised efficiency with 201 HP, 340 NM and 640 KM NEDC range, while still providing premium equipment such as ventilated and massaging front seats, Head-Up Display, Infinity audio and comprehensive Level 2 ADAS.

For RM189,800, the Performance doubled output to 402 HP and 680 NM, added AWD and reduced the 0-100 KM/H time from 7.9 seconds to just 4.3 seconds.

Its biggest weakness remains charging performance. An 88 KW DC maximum is considerably slower than many newer EV rivals, while the 333 L boot is modest for such a large car.

With the ORA 07 now no longer listed as a new model by GWM Malaysia, it represents a relatively short-lived but distinctive chapter in the brand’s Malaysian EV line-up.
