The Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid is the plug-in hybrid version of the third-generation Cayenne SUV, combining a turbocharged V6 petrol engine with a substantially upgraded electric motor and battery system.

The facelifted Cayenne E-Hybrid was offered in Malaysia as a fully imported model at RM750,000, while the later E-Hybrid Black Edition was listed at RM820,000. The regular E-Hybrid SUV is no longer shown in Porsche Malaysia’s current new-car configurator, with the locally assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé now serving as the brand’s active Cayenne PHEV offering.

The E-Hybrid produces a combined 346 KW (464 HP) and 650 NM, pairing a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 with a 130 KW (174 HP), 460 NM electric motor. A 25.9 KWH lithium-ion battery provides 66-74 KM WLTP combined electric range, increasing to as much as 90 KM under the WLTP city cycle.

The facelift introduced Porsche’s newer Driver Experience cockpit.

A curved 12.6-INCH fully digital instrument cluster replaces the previous analogue-centred arrangement, while a 12.3-INCH Porsche Communication Management touchscreen occupies the centre of the dashboard.

An additional 10.9-INCH front passenger display was available as an option.

Relocating the gear selector to the dashboard frees considerably more space within the centre console.

A dedicated climate-control panel combines physical switches with haptic touch surfaces, while storage and cup holders occupy the lower section.

The arrangement retains physical access to frequently used functions rather than placing everything within the touchscreen.

A curved 12.6-INCH fully digital instrument display provides configurable layouts.

Information includes speed, engine revs, hybrid energy flow, battery state, electric range, navigation and driver-assistance information.

Dedicated E-Hybrid displays allow the driver to monitor interaction between the V6 engine and electric motor.

Standard specification provides eight-way electrically adjustable front Comfort seats.

Front-seat heating is also included, while higher-level memory, ventilation and additional electric adjustment were available depending on specification.

The rear seatbacks fold in a 40:20:40 split for greater luggage flexibility.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid accommodates five occupants.

Its 2,895 MM wheelbase and upright SUV body provide generous front and rear passenger room.

Rear occupants benefit from significantly greater headroom than in the Cayenne Coupé, making the standard SUV better suited to frequent family use.

A multifunction sports steering wheel provides controls for audio, vehicle functions and the digital instrument display.

Both tilt and telescopic adjustment are provided.

A steering-wheel-mounted drive-mode selector is included when equipped with the Sport Chrono Package.

Cabin storage includes a glove compartment, centre-console compartment and large front and rear door pockets.

The redesigned console provides more usable small-item storage than the pre-facelift Cayenne.

Additional compartments are provided around the rear passenger area.

Two cup holders are positioned within the front centre console.

A further pair is integrated into the rear centre armrest.

Bottle holders are also incorporated into the door pockets.

The Cayenne provides multiple USB-C fast-charging ports for front and rear passengers.

A 15 W wireless smartphone charging compartment is also available.

The plug-in hybrid charging port is positioned externally and uses AC charging only.

The cabin combines partial leather upholstery, soft-touch surfaces, metallic detailing and Porsche’s familiar high-quality switchgear.

The facelifted dashboard feels considerably more digital without abandoning tactile physical controls entirely.

As with most Porsche models, individual Malaysian cars can differ significantly because of the extensive factory options list.

Luggage capacity stands at approximately 627 L measured to the upper edge of the rear seatbacks.

Folding the rear seats increases maximum capacity to 1,563 L.

The battery sits beneath the rear load area, meaning luggage volume is lower than in the non-hybrid Cayenne but remains generous for a luxury PHEV SUV.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid measures 4,930 MM long, 1,983 MM wide and 1,696 MM tall, with a 2,895 MM wheelbase.

DIN unladen weight stands at approximately 2,425 KG.

Its conventional SUV roofline provides greater passenger and luggage versatility than the lower Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupé.

The facelift introduced a more sharply sculpted bonnet, revised front wings and a redesigned bumper.

Large cooling openings give the Cayenne a purposeful appearance while also supplying airflow to the turbocharged V6 and hybrid cooling systems.

The wider visual stance and pronounced bonnet surfaces give the E-Hybrid considerably more presence than the previous version.

The rear features a full-width lighting strip with the Porsche lettering integrated between the tail lamps.

A roof-mounted spoiler sits above the rear windscreen, while a broad powered tailgate provides access to the luggage compartment.

E-Hybrid badging distinguishes the plug-in hybrid model from conventional petrol variants.

Matrix LED headlamps are standard on the facelifted Cayenne E-Hybrid.

The system selectively controls individual lighting segments to maintain useful high-beam illumination without dazzling surrounding traffic.

More advanced HD-Matrix LED lighting was also available depending on vehicle specification.

The Cayenne features full-LED tail lamps connected by a continuous light strip.

Three-dimensional internal graphics provide a distinctive nighttime signature.

Dynamic lighting functions and LED direction indicators are integrated into the rear assemblies.

Exterior mirrors feature electric adjustment, heating and power folding.

Integrated LED direction indicators are incorporated into the housings.

Automatic dimming and memory-linked functions are available depending on individual vehicle specification.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid uses substantial performance brakes to manage its weight and output.

The front receives 390 MM internally ventilated discs with six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed callipers, while the rear uses 358 MM internally ventilated discs with four-piston fixed callipers.

Regenerative braking from the electric motor operates alongside the conventional hydraulic system.

Standard specification uses 20-INCH AeroDesign alloy wheels.

Front tyres measure 255/55 ZR20, while the rear uses wider 295/45 ZR20 tyres.

Larger 21-inch and 22-inch Porsche wheel packages were also available depending on configuration.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid features Porsche Stability Management, incorporating ABS, traction control, automatic brake differential and engine drag-torque control.

Auto Hold, Porsche Hill Control, trailer stability management and a multi-collision braking function are also included.

Forward collision detection and braking assistance further enhance everyday safety.

The Cayenne provides multiple front, side and curtain airbags covering both seating rows.

Three-point seat belts are provided for all five occupants.

ISOFIX and i-Size child-seat mounting points are fitted to the outer rear seats.

The E-Hybrid provides dedicated hybrid operating strategies including E-Power, Hybrid Auto, E-Hold and E-Charge.

E-Power prioritises electric driving, while Hybrid Auto automatically manages the combustion engine and motor for efficiency.

E-Hold preserves the battery’s existing state of charge, while E-Charge allows the petrol engine to replenish the battery while driving.

Sport and Sport Plus modes prioritise performance when equipped with Sport Chrono.

A 12.3-INCH Porsche Communication Management touchscreen serves as the primary infotainment interface.

Functions include online navigation, Bluetooth, Porsche Connect and smartphone integration.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, while selected apps can be accessed directly through Porsche’s App Centre.

Standard assistance equipment includes ParkAssist with front and rear sensors and a reversing camera, together with speed-limit assistance and collision-warning functions.

Depending on Malaysian vehicle specification, equipment could additionally include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Change Assist, Surround View and Head-Up Display.

Porsche’s extensive options system means assistance specification can differ between individual imported vehicles.

Standard specification uses Porsche Sound Package Plus with 10 speakers and approximately 150 W output.

A more powerful BOSE Surround Sound System was available depending on vehicle configuration.

Burmester premium audio could also be specified in selected markets and configurations.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid combines a 2,995 CC turbocharged V6 petrol engine with an electric motor integrated into the hybrid transmission.

The combustion engine produces 224 KW (300 HP) and 420 NM.

The electric motor develops 130 KW (174 HP) and 460 NM.

Combined system output stands at 346 KW (464 HP) and 650 NM.

Power is transmitted through an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission.

The electric motor is integrated into the hybrid module between the combustion engine and gearbox.

This arrangement allows purely electric driving while retaining conventional multi-speed gearing for higher-speed efficiency and performance.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid features Porsche Traction Management active all-wheel drive.

An electronically controlled multi-plate clutch continuously varies torque between the front and rear axles.

The system provides strong traction on wet surfaces while retaining the rear-biased handling character associated with the Cayenne.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in 4.9 seconds.

Maximum speed stands at 254 KM/H.

When operating solely on electric power, maximum speed is approximately 135 KM/H.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid has an official weighted combined consumption of approximately 1.5-1.8 L/100 KM WLTP, together with electrical consumption of around 28.7-30.8 KWH/100 KM.

Its 25.9 KWH gross lithium-ion battery, with approximately 21.8 KWH usable capacity, provides 66-74 KM of combined WLTP electric range and as much as 77-90 KM under the WLTP city cycle.

A standard 11 KW AC onboard charger can recharge the battery from 0-100% in approximately 2 hours 39 minutes under suitable conditions.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid does not support DC fast charging.

Convenience equipment includes keyless start, powered front seats, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and an electrically operated tailgate.

Parking pre-conditioning allows the climate-control system to cool or heat the cabin using battery power before occupants enter.

Additional features such as Porsche Entry, soft-close doors, panoramic roof and hands-free tailgate operation depended on configuration.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid features automatic climate control with dedicated rear air-conditioning vents.

The standard system allows effective airflow to both seating rows.

A more sophisticated four-zone automatic climate-control system was available for independently adjustable rear temperature settings.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid uses aluminium multi-link independent suspension at both axles.

Porsche Active Suspension Management electronically adjusts damping according to road conditions and selected driving mode.

Adaptive air suspension was also available and provides adjustable ride height together with a broader range between comfort and performance-oriented settings.

The E-Hybrid can operate almost silently during electric driving, significantly reducing powertrain noise in urban environments.

Extensive cabin insulation suppresses road and wind noise during longer journeys.

Once the V6 engine starts, its operation remains well isolated during relaxed driving while providing a more prominent soundtrack under heavier acceleration.

The Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid combines genuine sports-SUV performance with enough electric capability to cover many shorter daily journeys without starting its petrol engine.

Its 464 HP and 650 NM combined output delivers a rapid 4.9-second 0-100 KM/H time, while the 25.9 KWH battery provides 66-74 KM WLTP electric range, reaching as much as 90 KM during urban testing.

The facelift also brought major improvements inside, including the 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch PCM touchscreen and redesigned centre console, while the conventional SUV body retains a useful 627 L boot.

Its 11 KW AC charging and lack of DC charging are typical of a PHEV rather than a full EV, but the sub-three-hour home charging time makes regular electric commuting practical.

The regular Cayenne E-Hybrid SUV is no longer displayed in Porsche Malaysia’s current new-car configurator, making the RM750,000 facelifted model and RM820,000 Black Edition previous Malaysian offerings. The locally assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé has since become Porsche Malaysia’s principal Cayenne plug-in hybrid.
