The 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 is Proton’s locally assembled C-segment electric SUV, now offered in three variants – Prime, Premium and Premium Plus.

All three share a front-mounted electric motor producing 160 KW (215 HP) and 320 NM, while battery capacity increases from 49.52 KWH in the Prime to 60.22 KWH in the Premium and 68.39 KWH in the Premium Plus. Corresponding WLTP ranges stand at 345 KM, 410 KM and 450 KM.

The regular Peninsular Malaysia prices are RM103,800 for the Prime, RM119,800 for the Premium and RM125,800 for the Premium Plus. Under the current RM7,000 Special Launch Rebate, these are reduced to RM96,800, RM112,800 and RM118,800 respectively.

The cabin adopts a clean horizontal dashboard dominated by a 15.4-INCH 2.5K central touchscreen.

A separate 10.2-INCH digital instrument display sits ahead of the driver, while the Premium and Premium Plus additionally receive a windscreen Head-Up Display.

A 10.2-INCH digital instrument cluster displays speed, battery charge, range, energy consumption and assistance-system information.

Premium and Premium Plus variants additionally feature a windscreen Head-Up Display, allowing important driving information to remain closer to the driver’s line of sight.

Leatherette upholstery is standard.

The Prime provides a six-way powered driver’s seat, while the Premium adds driver memory, a powered front passenger seat and ventilation for both front seats.

The Premium Plus further adds massage functions for both front seats, passenger-seat memory and an electrically operated front passenger leg rest.

The front passenger seat can also recline almost completely for a more relaxed seating position.

The e.MAS 7 accommodates five occupants across two seating rows.

Its 2,750 MM wheelbase and flat rear floor provide generous rear legroom, while the dedicated EV platform makes efficient use of the available interior dimensions.

Rear seatbacks also offer two-stage reclining adjustment.

The two-spoke multifunction steering wheel integrates controls for audio, driver information and assistance systems.

Both tilt and telescopic adjustment are provided.

A column-mounted electronic drive selector keeps the centre-console area uncluttered.

The e.MAS 7 provides up to 33 storage compartments throughout the cabin.

These include a 14 L under-seat storage area, drawers beneath the rear seats, door pockets, centre-console storage and a large lower console compartment.

Twin cup holders are integrated into the front centre console beneath a sliding cover.

Rear occupants receive additional beverage storage through the fold-down centre armrest and door compartments.

The cabin provides two USB-A and two USB-C charging ports, divided between the front and rear seating areas.

A wireless smartphone charger and 12 V accessory socket are also provided.

Standard luggage capacity stands at 461 L.

An additional 51 L underfloor storage compartment provides concealed storage beneath the boot floor.

With the rear seats folded, maximum carrying capacity increases to approximately 1,877 L, making the e.MAS 7 particularly practical for a C-segment electric SUV.

The e.MAS 7 measures 4,615 MM long, 1,901 MM wide and 1,670 MM tall, with a 2,750 MM wheelbase.

Kerb weight stands at approximately 1,662 KG for the Prime, 1,765 KG for the Premium and 1,815 KG for the Premium Plus.

Its dedicated EV proportions and relatively long wheelbase provide a spacious passenger cabin while retaining manageable C-segment SUV dimensions.

Up front, the e.MAS 7 adopts a clean EV-oriented design with a largely enclosed fascia and slim lighting elements positioned high across the nose.

Sculpted lower bumper surfaces and discreet air openings give the SUV a modern appearance without relying on an oversized conventional grille.

Its aerodynamic body achieves a drag coefficient of approximately 0.275.

The rear features a broad tailgate, roof-mounted spoiler and clean horizontal styling.

A full-width lighting treatment emphasises the vehicle’s width, while the 2026 Prime now receives a powered tailgate, bringing the feature across the entire range.

Automatic LED projector headlamps are standard.

They are accompanied by LED daytime running lights, automatic high-beam functionality and a Follow-Me-Home function.

The e.MAS 7 features distinctive 3D LED tail lamps linked visually across the rear.

LED rear fog lamps and a high-mounted brake lamp complete the lighting package.

Exterior mirrors feature electric adjustment, automatic folding and heating.

Integrated LED indicators are also provided, while their aerodynamic housings complement the SUV’s streamlined body.

The braking system works together with regenerative braking from the electric drivetrain to recover energy during deceleration.

ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control and Auto Hold supplement the conventional friction brakes.

Proton quotes a braking distance of approximately 35 M from 100-0 KM/H.

The Prime rides on 18-INCH alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55 R18 tyres.

The Premium and Premium Plus upgrade to 19-INCH alloy wheels with wider 235/50 R19 tyres, giving the higher variants a more substantial stance.

Standard active safety equipment includes ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control.

Also provided are Hill Start Assist, Auto Hold, Electronic Parking Brake, Tyre Pressure Monitoring and regenerative braking.

A 360-degree camera system provides additional low-speed visibility.

The e.MAS 7 features six airbags, consisting of dual front airbags, front-side airbags and curtain airbags.

ISOFIX child-seat mounting points, three-point seatbelts for all occupants and seatbelt reminders are also provided.

The e.MAS 7 achieved a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating with an overall score of 92.57 points, making it the highest-scoring passenger vehicle tested by ASEAN NCAP in 2024.

Its AEGIS Short Blade Battery is integrated into the body structure using Cell-to-Body technology for improved rigidity and battery protection.

Selectable Eco, Comfort and Sport drive modes alter accelerator response and drivetrain characteristics.

Regenerative braking levels can also be adjusted to suit the driver’s preferred level of deceleration and energy recovery.

The 15.4-INCH 2.5K touchscreen runs the Flyme Auto operating system.

It incorporates navigation, an Integrated Live Charging Map, Bluetooth connectivity, vehicle controls, Over-the-Air software updating and Proton e.MAS connected services.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is also available, together with English and Bahasa Malaysia voice commands.

The Prime receives a six-speaker audio system.

Premium and Premium Plus variants upgrade to a 16-speaker Flyme Sound system with WANOS surround sound, producing up to approximately 1,000 W.

Speakers integrated into the front headrests provide a more immersive and personalised listening experience.

As a fully electric vehicle, the e.MAS 7 replaces a conventional combustion engine with Proton’s 12-in-1 integrated electric drive unit.

All three variants produce 160 KW (215 HP) and 320 NM from a single front-mounted electric motor.

Power is delivered through a single-speed automatic electric reduction transmission.

The electric motor provides immediate torque without requiring conventional multi-speed gear changes.

All three e.MAS 7 variants use front-wheel drive.

The single electric motor is mounted at the front and delivers its entire output to the front axle.

The lighter Prime accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in 6.9 seconds.

As a fully electric vehicle, the e.MAS 7 consumes no petrol or diesel.

The Prime uses a 49.52 KWH AEGIS Short Blade Battery, providing 345 KM WLTP range. It supports 11 KW AC and up to 80 KW DC charging.

The Premium receives a 60.22 KWH battery, extending range to 410 KM WLTP, with the same 11 KW AC capability and faster 100 KW DC charging.

The Premium Plus uses the largest 68.39 KWH battery, delivering up to 450 KM WLTP and increasing DC charging power to 115 KW.

All three can charge from approximately 30-80% in around 20 minutes under suitable DC charging conditions and support 3.3 KW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

Standard convenience equipment includes intelligent keyless entry and start, Walk Away Auto Lock, rain-sensing wipers, powered tailgate, automatic climate control and wireless smartphone charging.

Premium and Premium Plus variants further receive a panoramic glass sunroof with powered sunshade, ventilated powered front seats, Head-Up Display and 256-colour ambient lighting.

The Premium Plus adds front-seat massage, passenger memory and a powered passenger leg rest.

Dedicated rear air-conditioning vents are positioned behind the centre console.

They complement the automatic climate-control system and N95 cabin filter, providing more direct airflow for second-row passengers.

The e.MAS 7 uses MacPherson strut suspension at the front and an independent multi-link setup at the rear.

The battery is mounted low within the chassis, helping lower the centre of gravity, while the relatively long 2,750 MM wheelbase contributes to stable and comfortable cruising.

The Premium Plus carries additional weight from its larger battery, but retains the same basic suspension arrangement.

The quiet electric drivetrain keeps mechanical noise and vibration low during everyday driving.

Proton also places emphasis on cabin sealing and acoustic refinement, while the Premium and Premium Plus complement the quieter environment with the 16-speaker Flyme Sound system.

The 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 has evolved from a two-variant electric SUV into a broader three-model range covering different budgets and driving requirements.

The Prime remains particularly strong value with 215 HP, 345 KM WLTP range, Level 2 ADAS and a powered tailgate, while the Premium adds the more desirable 410 KM range, faster charging, 19-inch wheels, ventilated seats, panoramic roof, HUD and premium audio.

The new Premium Plus is now the most complete version, pairing a 68.39 KWH battery and 450 KM WLTP range with 115 KW DC charging, massage seats and a passenger leg rest.
