The smart #3 is a fully electric coupé-style C-segment SUV positioned as the sleeker and sportier alternative to the smart #1.

The Malaysian line-up continues unchanged into 2026 with three variants – Pro, Premium and BRABUS – priced at RM175,000, RM215,000 and RM255,000 respectively, on-the-road without insurance.

The Pro and Premium use a single rear-mounted motor producing 200 KW (268 HP) and 343 NM, while the range-topping BRABUS adds a front motor for 315 KW (422 HP) and 543 NM with all-wheel drive.

Battery capacity ranges from 49 KWH to 66 KWH, with maximum WLTP range reaching 455 KM.

The cabin adopts a clean and minimalist dashboard design with distinctive turbine-style central air vents.

A 12.8-INCH central touchscreen dominates the dashboard, while a slim 9.2-INCH digital instrument cluster sits directly ahead of the driver.

Premium and BRABUS variants additionally receive a 10-INCH Head-Up Display.

The raised centre console provides storage, cup holders and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

An integrated cooled storage compartment is positioned beneath the centre armrest, adding useful everyday functionality.

The gear selector is mounted on the steering column, freeing additional space around the console.

A slim 9.2-INCH HD digital instrument cluster displays speed, battery status, range and driver-assistance information.

Premium and BRABUS variants supplement this with a 10-INCH Head-Up Display projecting key information onto the windscreen.

Both front seats are electrically adjustable and heated.

The Premium receives upgraded Duo leather upholstery, while the BRABUS features a sportier combination of microfibre suede upholstery, red seat belts and BRABUS-branded headrests.

Rear seats fold in a 60:40 split.

The smart #3 accommodates five occupants across two seating rows.

Its 2,785 MM wheelbase provides useful rear passenger space despite the lower coupé-style roofline, while a relatively flat rear floor improves comfort for the centre passenger.

A multifunction steering wheel incorporates controls for audio, digital instrumentation and driver-assistance functions.

Both tilt and telescopic adjustment are provided.

The BRABUS receives a sportier steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara-style material with red stitching and an illuminated BRABUS emblem.

Storage areas include a large centre-console compartment, lower console storage, glove box, door pockets and seatback pockets.

The centre armrest also incorporates a cooled storage compartment suitable for smaller drinks or personal items.

Four dedicated cup holders are provided.

Two are positioned within the front centre console, while another two are integrated into the fold-down rear centre armrest.

The cabin provides four USB-C ports, with two at the front and another two for rear passengers.

A wireless smartphone charging pad and 12 V power socket are also provided.

The vehicle additionally supports 3.3 KW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

The cabin combines soft-touch materials, metallic trim and leather or microfibre upholstery with a clean contemporary design.

Premium and BRABUS variants add 64-colour ambient lighting, while the BRABUS further introduces red stitching, aluminium sports pedals and darker interior trim.

Rear luggage capacity stands at 370 L with the second-row seats upright.

Folding the rear seats expands maximum cargo capacity to approximately 1,160 L.

A further 15 L front luggage compartment provides useful storage for charging cables and smaller items.

The smart #3 measures 4,400 MM long, 1,844 MM wide and 1,556 MM tall, with a 2,785 MM wheelbase.

Kerb weight stands at approximately 1,780 KG for the Pro, 1,810 KG for the Premium and 1,910 KG for the BRABUS.

Its lower and more streamlined profile gives the #3 a drag coefficient of approximately 0.27 CD.

Up front, the #3 adopts a smooth and rounded fascia highlighted by a wide lighting treatment and active lower grille.

Premium and BRABUS variants receive an illuminated front grille treatment, while the BRABUS adds a sportier vented bonnet appearance, darker badging and red exterior accents.

The rear features a steeply sloping coupé-style roofline flowing into a compact rear spoiler and broad tailgate.

A full-width lighting treatment visually widens the vehicle, while a powered tailgate is standard.

Premium and BRABUS variants additionally receive a hands-free kick sensor for the tailgate.

The Pro is equipped with CyberSpark LED headlamps.

Premium and BRABUS variants upgrade to CyberSparks LED+ headlamps with Adaptive High Beam Assist, allowing the high beam to be automatically managed around surrounding traffic.

Full-LED tail lamps are standard across the range.

Their slim horizontal design complements the #3’s low and wide stance, while LED rear fog lamps and a high-mounted brake lamp are also provided.

Exterior mirrors feature electric adjustment, powered folding and integrated LED turn indicators.

Automatic dimming and memory-related functions are available depending on variant, while Blind Spot Detection warnings are incorporated into the mirror area.

The smart #3 uses ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid discs at the rear.

Regenerative braking supplements the conventional braking system and allows energy to be recovered during deceleration.

The BRABUS further receives red-painted brake callipers to emphasise its performance positioning.

The Pro rides on 19-INCH Flux alloy wheels wrapped in 245/45 R19 tyres.

The Premium receives alternative 19-INCH Torque alloy wheels with the same tyre size.

The BRABUS upgrades to 20-INCH Synchro alloy wheels fitted with 245/40 R20 tyres.

Active safety systems include ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control.

Also provided are Hill Start Assist, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, regenerative braking and Tyre Pressure Monitoring.

A 360-degree camera system and front and rear parking sensors assist during low-speed manoeuvres.

The smart #3 is equipped with seven airbags, comprising dual front airbags, front-side airbags, curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag.

Three-point seat belts are provided for all occupants, together with seatbelt reminders and ISOFIX mounting points.

The #3 features a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance systems supported by cameras, millimetre-wave radar and ultrasonic sensors.

Functions include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.

Also included are Blind Spot Detection, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Door Opening Warning.

Premium and BRABUS variants additionally receive Automatic Parking Assistant.

The Pro uses a standard five-speaker audio system.

Premium and BRABUS variants upgrade to a 13-speaker Beats sound system producing approximately 640 W.

The upgraded system provides dedicated Classic and Beats audio profiles.

Being fully electric, the smart #3 replaces a combustion engine with electric motors.

The Pro and Premium use a single rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 200 KW (268 HP) and 343 NM.

The BRABUS combines front and rear electric motors for a total output of 315 KW (422 HP) and 543 NM.

All variants use a single-speed automatic electric reduction transmission.

The electric motors therefore provide immediate torque without conventional multi-speed gear changes.

The Pro and Premium feature rear-wheel drive, with a single electric motor powering the rear axle.

The BRABUS adds a front motor to create a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.

The Pro and Premium accelerate from 0-100 KM/H in 5.8 seconds.

The significantly more powerful BRABUS completes the same sprint in just 3.7 seconds when maximum performance is requested.

Top speed is electronically limited to 180 KM/H across all three variants.

As a fully electric vehicle, the smart #3 consumes no petrol or diesel.

The Pro uses a 49 KWH LFP battery, providing 325 KM WLTP range.

It supports approximately 7.2 KW AC charging and up to 130 KW DC charging, with a 10-80% DC recharge requiring around 30 minutes.

The Premium uses a 66 KWH NMC battery, extending range to 455 KM WLTP.

The BRABUS uses the same 66 KWH battery but offers 415 KM WLTP due to its more powerful dual-motor drivetrain.

Premium and BRABUS support 22 KW AC charging and 150 KW DC fast charging, with 10-80% DC charging requiring approximately 30 minutes.

All variants also support 3.3 KW V2L.

Standard convenience features include smart keyless entry and start, electrically concealed door handles, powered front seats, rain-sensing wipers and a powered tailgate.

A panoramic Halo glass roof with manual sunshade, wireless smartphone charging and automatic climate control are also standard.

Premium and BRABUS further add ambient lighting, hands-free tailgate access and additional premium cabin equipment.

Dedicated rear air-conditioning vents are provided for second-row passengers.

They complement the automatic climate-control system and help distribute airflow more evenly throughout the cabin.

The electric drivetrain eliminates conventional engine noise and vibration, particularly during lower-speed driving.

The streamlined body and frameless doors are engineered to minimise wind disturbance, while overall cabin insulation provides a relatively refined environment during highway cruising.

The BRABUS can deliberately add a simulated performance soundtrack when a more dramatic driving experience is desired.

The smart #3 offers a distinctive combination of coupé-SUV styling, rear-wheel-drive dynamics and premium cabin technology.

The RM175,000 Pro already provides 268 HP, 343 NM and a 5.8-second 0-100 KM/H sprint, although its smaller 49 KWH battery limits range to 325 KM WLTP.

The RM215,000 Premium is arguably the strongest all-rounder, retaining the same performance while upgrading to a 66 KWH battery, 455 KM WLTP range, 22 KW AC charging, Head-Up Display and 13-speaker Beats audio system.

At the top, the RM255,000 BRABUS transforms the #3 into a genuinely rapid performance EV with 422 HP, 543 NM, AWD and a 3.7-second 0-100 KM/H time, although WLTP range falls to 415 KM.

With no major Malaysian specification update announced for 2026, the current #3 remains a stylish and performance-focused alternative within the premium compact electric SUV segment.
