The 2026 XPENG G6 is the facelifted version of XPENG’s electric fastback SUV and is now locally assembled in Malaysia, with CKD production taking place in Melaka.

Three variants are offered – RWD Standard Range, RWD Long Range and AWD Performance – priced at RM158,888, RM178,888 and RM189,888 respectively, before on-the-road costs and insurance.

The Standard Range produces 185 KW (248 HP) and 440 NM, while the Long Range increases output to 218 KW (292 HP) and 440 NM. The flagship AWD Performance combines two motors for 358 KW (480 HP) and 660 NM.

Battery capacities stand at 68.5 KWH for the Standard Range and 80.8 KWH for the Long Range and AWD Performance, providing up to 480 KM, 525 KM and 510 KM WLTP respectively.

The refreshed G6 retains its minimalist dashboard but receives redesigned air vents and updated trim details.

A large 15.6-INCH central touchscreen replaces the previous 14.96-inch display, while a 10.25-INCH digital instrument cluster sits directly ahead of the driver.

A clean horizontal dashboard layout and concealed air vents contribute to the cabin’s lounge-like appearance.

A 10.25-INCH digital instrument cluster is standard across all three variants.

It displays speed, battery level, remaining range, navigation information and XPILOT assistance-system status.

All variants feature six-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, four-way lumbar support and position memory.

The Standard Range uses leather upholstery, while the Long Range and AWD Performance upgrade to Nappa leather upholstery with suede-covered interior pillars.

The higher variants additionally provide massage functions for both front seats, which are omitted from the Standard Range.

The G6 accommodates five occupants across two seating rows.

Its long 2,890 MM wheelbase and near-flat rear floor provide generous second-row legroom, while the wide 1,920 MM body offers good shoulder room.

The rear seatbacks can also be manually adjusted for recline and fold in a 60:40 split.

The G6 uses a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel finished in microfibre.

Capacitive touch controls provide access to infotainment, driver-assistance and digital-instrument functions.

Electric power steering is standard across all variants.

Storage areas are provided throughout the cabin, including a large centre-console compartment, open lower-console storage, glove compartment and door pockets.

The near-flat rear floor also improves passenger usability, while folding the second-row seats considerably expands cargo capacity.

Redesigned front cup holders are integrated within the centre console.

Rear occupants receive additional cup holders within the fold-down centre armrest.

The G6 provides one USB-A and three USB-C ports throughout the cabin.

One USB-C connection supports up to 60 W output and data transmission, while the remaining ports provide device charging.

Two 50 W ventilated wireless smartphone chargers are also standard.

Rear luggage capacity stands at a generous 571 L with the second-row seats upright.

Folding the 60:40 split rear seats expands maximum cargo capacity to 1,374 L, giving the G6 strong practicality for a fastback-styled electric SUV.

The facelifted G6 measures 4,758 MM long, 1,920 MM wide and 1,650 MM tall, with a 2,890 MM wheelbase.

Kerb weight stands at approximately 2,065 KG for the Standard Range, 2,115 KG for the Long Range and 2,220 KG for the AWD Performance.

Its turning radius measures 5.8 M, while aerodynamic optimisation results in a drag coefficient of approximately 0.248 CD.

The facelift introduces XPENG’s updated Robot Face design, highlighted by a new full-width Starlight Wing LED light bar stretching across the nose.

The XPENG emblem has been repositioned higher on the bonnet, while the main headlamps remain integrated lower within the front fascia.

Body-coloured wheel-arch trim and cleaner bumper surfacing give the refreshed G6 a noticeably more cohesive appearance.

The rear retains the G6’s fastback-inspired roofline but receives subtle styling revisions.

A small ducktail-style spoiler is now integrated into the tailgate above the slim rear lighting treatment, giving the SUV a sportier profile.

A powered tailgate provides access to the large luggage compartment.

The G6 features automatic LED headlamps with automatic high- and low-beam functionality.

LED daytime running lights form part of the full-width front lighting treatment, while Intelligent High Beam automatically manages high-beam operation around surrounding traffic.

Slim full-LED tail lamps stretch across the rear and complement the new front Starlight Wing lighting signature.

A high-mounted LED brake lamp is integrated into the rear spoiler area.

Exterior mirrors are electrically adjustable, electrically folding and heated.

They also feature position memory and integrated Blind Spot Detection warnings, while their streamlined housings help reduce aerodynamic drag.

All three variants use ventilated disc brakes at both the front and rear.

XPENG’s OneBox braking system combines the conventional friction brakes with regenerative braking to provide consistent pedal response while recovering energy during deceleration.

An Electronic Parking Brake and Auto Hold are also standard.

The RWD Standard Range rides on 18-INCH alloy wheels wrapped in 235/60 R18 tyres.

The RWD Long Range and AWD Performance upgrade to 20-INCH alloy wheels with wider 255/45 R20 tyres.

The larger wheels give the higher variants a considerably sportier stance while the Standard Range prioritises efficiency and ride comfort.

The G6 features seven airbags, including driver and front passenger airbags, front side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, driver’s knee protection and a front far-side centre airbag.

Rear ISOFIX child-seat mounting points, seatbelt reminders for all occupants and electronic rear child locks are also provided.

Its high-strength steel and aluminium body structure incorporates dedicated battery protection within the SEPA 2.0 platform.

Selectable modes include Eco, Comfort, Sport and Individual, allowing accelerator response, steering and other vehicle characteristics to be altered.

Additional Launch and Escape modes are also provided for specific performance and low-grip driving situations.

Regenerative braking characteristics can also be configured through the vehicle settings.

The G6 features a 15.6-INCH central touchscreen running XPENG’s XOS operating system.

Functions include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Smart Navigation, DAB and FM radio, an integrated App Store and Over-the-Air software updates.

The “Hey XPENG” four-zone voice assistant can control numerous cabin and vehicle functions through natural voice commands.

Welcome Mode and Meditation Mode are also included.

Audio is delivered through the XPENG XOPERA surround sound system.

The setup comprises 16 cabin speakers plus two dedicated speakers integrated into the driver’s seat, effectively providing an 18-speaker audio environment.

Being fully electric, the G6 uses electric motors rather than a combustion engine.

The RWD Standard Range uses a single rear motor producing 185 KW (248 HP) and 440 NM.

The RWD Long Range increases motor output to 218 KW (292 HP) while retaining 440 NM.

The AWD Performance combines a 218 KW rear motor with a 140 KW front motor for a total of 358 KW (480 HP) and 660 NM.

All variants use a single-speed automatic electric reduction transmission.

The electric motors provide immediate torque without conventional multi-speed gear changes.Merged to the setups is a single-speed automatic transmission (column gear selector: right stalk shifter).

The Standard Range and Long Range use rear-wheel drive, with a single electric motor powering the rear axle.

The AWD Performance adds a front motor to create a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, providing substantially greater traction and acceleration.

The RWD Standard Range accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in 6.94 seconds.

The RWD Long Range completes the sprint in 6.7 seconds.

The significantly more powerful AWD Performance reduces the figure to just 4.13 seconds.

Maximum speed stands at 202 KM/H across all three variants.

As a fully electric vehicle, the G6 consumes no petrol or diesel.

The RWD Standard Range uses a 68.5 KWH LFP battery, delivering 480 KM WLTP range and energy consumption of approximately 16.6 KWH/100 KM.

The RWD Long Range receives an 80.8 KWH LFP battery, providing the range-high 525 KM WLTP at approximately 17.9 KWH/100 KM.

The AWD Performance uses the same 80.8 KWH battery but provides 510 KM WLTP, with consumption rated at approximately 18.4 KWH/100 KM.

All variants support 11 KW AC charging. A 5-100% recharge requires approximately 7.3 hours for the Standard Range and 9.2 hours for the Long Range and AWD Performance.

Thanks to the 800-VOLT SEPA 2.0 architecture and 5C battery technology, DC charging reaches 382 KW on the Standard Range and 451 KW on the two 80.8 KWH variants.

All three can complete a 10-80% DC recharge in approximately 12 minutes under suitable conditions.

Vehicle-to-Load functionality is also standard.

Standard conveniences include UWB smart key, NFC card key, Bluetooth smartphone key and XPENG App remote-control functionality.

Also standard are a powered tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, electrically folding mirrors, four one-touch anti-pinch windows and dual 50 W wireless smartphone chargers.

A large panoramic glass roof with heat-insulating treatment enhances the sense of cabin openness.

The G6 features dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear air vents.

A heat-pump system, N95 filtration, pollen filtration and PM2.5 monitoring help maintain cabin air quality while improving energy efficiency.

All variants use double-wishbone independent suspension at the front and a five-link independent rear suspension.

The sophisticated arrangement provides better wheel control than simpler torsion-beam layouts, while the facelift also receives revised suspension tuning aimed at improving the balance between body control and ride comfort.

Its long wheelbase and relatively wide track further contribute to stable highway cruising.

The G6 features sound-insulating glass for the windscreen and front side windows.

Privacy glass is used for the second-row windows and rear windscreen, while the inherently quiet electric drivetrain further reduces mechanical noise and vibration.

The 2026 XPENG G6 becomes an even stronger proposition following the introduction of local assembly in Malaysia while retaining the same competitive pricing as the previous imported model.

At RM158,888, the Standard Range already offers 248 HP, 440 NM, 480 KM WLTP range and exceptionally rapid 382 KW DC charging, while sacrificing relatively little equipment beyond Nappa leather, massage seats and selected advanced XPILOT functions.

The RM178,888 Long Range is arguably the strongest all-rounder, combining 292 HP, 525 KM WLTP range and 451 KW charging, while the RM189,888 AWD Performance adds 480 HP, 660 NM and a 4.13-second 0-100 KM/H sprint for only a modest additional cost.

Its combination of spacious packaging, 571 L boot, comprehensive XPILOT assistance, premium cabin equipment and 12-minute 10-80% charging capability makes the G6 one of the most technologically competitive electric SUVs currently assembled and sold in Malaysia.
