Porsche is ‘going public’ through planned IPO

Famed German sportscar marque Porsche announced plans to have 25% of its shares listed publicly on the German stock exchange next month. An initial public offering (IPO) effort will reportedly take place towards the end of Sept or early Oct.
The move was planned by parent company Volkswagen Group, and the brand believes the IPO will grant it "increased entrepreneurial independence”. Porsche Chairman Oliver Blume further notes that the historic move would open up a new chapter for us with increased independence as one of the world's most successful sports car manufacturers."

Notably, though Porsche will continue working with Volkswagen Group, it will instead terminate its profit-and-loss transfer agreement with said parent company. Additionally, the available stock will be in the form of non-voting preferred shares, meaning shareholders won't be able to do things such as electing the board of directors. There will also be a public offer to retail investors in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland.
Regarding dividend payout, Porsche plans to have that ratio set to 50% based on consolidated profits after tax, with these figures coming from dividends paid to shareholders in relation to a company's net income.

Financially, Porsche estimates 17% to 18% in sales returns for the full year of 2022, whereas its long-term goal is to have this figure grow to 20% and beyond. Return on sales is a ratio of operating profit divided by net sales, and the resulting figure offers an insight into how efficiently a company is being ran – naturally, higher numbers here will show stronger business strength.
Looking ahead, Porsche aims to have 80% and more of its vehicles delivered by 2030 to be in the form of electric vehicles (EVs). As reported, this effort will be fuelled by its plans for a new flagship electric SUV slotted above the Cayenne, the second-gen Taycan, as well as the recently reported plans for a new and electrified Panamera positioned above the Taycan.
