Hyundai Staria 10-seater variants launched – from RM180k

Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) expanded the Hyundai Staria MPV model range locally after introducing three new 10-seater variants into the line-up earlier today. In this form, the strikingly-designed MPV offers four rows of seats, and it comes in three trimlines – Lite, Plus and Max.
“The Staria, especially the 10-seater, is designed to accommodate a variety of lifestyles and business needs. Its interior space and functionalities aim to transform how people experience in-car travel and provide greater flexibility of use for their needs,” said Low Yuan Lung, MD of HSDM.

In 10-seater form, the Staria offers even greater versatility and use of its spacious cabin over the range-topping Premium 7-seater variant. Apart from seating for up to 10 occupants across a 2-3-2-3 layout, the full-flat seats (second-row onwards) can be configured for a multitude of other uses including forming a bed for two, as well as up 1,024 litres in cargo capacity.
On board, key features present include a 10-25-inch digital instrument display cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit offering navigation function, as well as roof-mounted air-cond vents covering all rows.

Notably, the baseline Lite gets black fabric seat covers whilst the mid-range Plus trimline gets partial-leather seat covers instead. Black Nappa leather upholstery is offered exclusively in the Max variant.
Both the Plus and Max get powered sliding doors and a 360-degree parking monitor, with the latter trimline's kit list bolstered further with the addition of a powered tailgate and 18-inch alloy wheels.

As for powertrain, all three share the same 2.2 CRDi 4-cyl turbo-diesel powerplant and 8-speed automatic transmission package as seen in the flagship 7-seater. According to HSDM, the mill’s turbocharger is now primed with an improved compressor and turbine wheel performance, serving up 177 PS and a very meaty 431 NM of twist to drive the front wheels. There are also four selectable drive modes, those being Smart, Normal, Eco, and Sport.
Lastly, on the safety front, all variants are laced with 6 airbags, three-point seatbelts in all seats, 2 ISOFIX childseat anchors in the second row seats, not forgetting anti-lock brakes (ABS) with EBD, traction (ESC) and stability (TCS) control suites, Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), parking sensors, as well as the Hyundai brand’s Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system. These are all standard-equipped across the board.

Opt for the Max trimline and the list grows longer to include a full swing of Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance (ADAS). Highlights of which include Blind-spot Collision Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert RCTA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), adaptive cruise control with stop-go function, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA).
In terms of price, the Hyundai Staria 10-Seater is priced at RM179,888 for the Lite, RM196,888 for the Plus, and RM209,888 for the Max (OTR excluding insurance costs).
Said prices include a standard 2-year of 50,000 KM warranty coverage, but this can be extended to a 5-year or 300,000 KM coverage with the addition of a 3-year of 50,000 KM free service package through an optional upgrade priced at RM10,000.
