Launched: 2023 Peugeot Landtrek 1.9D – Single Variant, 150 HP, From RM120K

Bermaz Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd (BAASB), the sole distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia has launched the all-new 2023 Peugeot Landtrek 1.9D today. Originally made its global debut in 2020, this Silver Lion-badged pick-up truck is also making its ASEAN regional debut today, coming in a single variant and powertrain option for our local market.

Previewed earlier this year, this mid-size truck is powered by a 1.9-litre 4-cyl turbodiesel mill that outputs 150 HP and 350 NM. Said diesel engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, as well as a part-time four-wheel-drive (4x4) driveline.

Visually, the Landtrek comes with a typical pick-up truck design and proportion, while sporting Peugeot’s signature design language that fits with the brand’s current SUV line-up. Up front, the Landtrek houses a vertical front grille with the Peugeot iconic Silver Lion emblem mounted dead centre. Said grille is flanked by a pair of auto LED headlights with extended DRL piece that grants the truck’s front fascia a lion-esque look.

On the side, the Landtrek rides on 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, featuring a six-spoke design and imbued in dual-tone silver and black finish. Providing grip to this outdoor-ready truck is a set of Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure tyres. Typical pickup parts like side steps and roof rack are also available as standard, with the former finished in polished metal and black.

Boasting a healthy 235 MM ground clearance, the Landtrek is capable of handling rough roads and surfaces, supplemented by the aforementioned all-terrain tyres, mechanical rear differential lock, as well as three driving modes offered by its part-time 4x4 driveline: 2-High, 4-High and 4-Low.

The back end of the Landtrek features a sizable flatbed, plus combination taillights that flanked the Silver Lion emblem and Peugeot lettering – both finished in chrome.

On board, the Peugeot Landtrek is primed with a pretty tech-laden cabin space, headlined by the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display with voice command built-in, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support enabled. There’s also a dual-zone automatic climate control, plus rear climate vents to provide comfort for all passengers on board, regardless of where they are sitting.

Drivers will get a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster display, plus a leather-wrapped steering wheel with telescopic adjustment and multiple control buttons mounted on it.

All seats on the Landtrek are wrapped in ‘Leatherette’ upholstery finish. The front passengers are granted with 6-way powered seats plus 2-way lumbar support for better comfort. At the back, the truck’s 1,550 MM wide shoulder room grants a spacious room for rear passengers to sit on. On top of that, the rear seats can be reclined up to 23 degrees, providing a better degree of comfort for the rear passengers.
Additionally, the rear seats can also be folded to provide more space, with the backrests capable of handling up to 100 KG of loads.

Safety-wise the Landtrek pickup boasts a slew of passive safety features. Aside from the standard six airbags and parking sensors, the Landtrek is primed with a 360-degree panoramic camera view, a slew of driving safety features like Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Hill Descent Control (HDC) with Hill Start Assist (HSA), as well as a novel Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system – the sole ADAS feature available to boot.

While the Landtrek comes in a single Allure variant, customers can still choose up to six exterior hue options such as Ceramic White, Silver Grey, Magnetic Blue, Red Rubi, Rockstone Grey, as well as the model’s signature colour, the Olea Green.

The 2023 Peugeot Landtrek 1.9D Allure is available for booking with a price tag of RM120,072 on-the-road sans insurance, including a 5-Year or 100,000 KM Manufacturer Warranty.
So folks, what are your thoughts on this latest addition to our local market’s pickup truck list? Would you prefer this French-flavoured truck over other pickup trucks available out there? As always, don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments down below…
