- Toyota Recalls 12,997 units of Toyota Hilux and Fortuner
UMW Toyota Malaysia has announced a recall for their popular Toyota Hilux and Fortuner for a brake booster inspection and replacement.
This recall exercise involves 11,571 units of Hilux and 1,426 units of Fortuner made between July 2018 and January 2019. It seems that the resin pistons in the brake booster could compromise braking performance.

The Toyota Hilux is a popular pickup truck around the world because of its robustness and reliability. As a testament to its popularity, it has the (un)savoury reputation as one of the most stolen cars.
The Toyota Fortuner, on the other hand, has all the luxurious appointments befitting its price bracket. However, the ladder frame chassis and leaf springs combo may not be to everyone’s liking. If you can live with the hard ride, then it’s a handsome and capable SUV that provides years of reliable service.
