- Brabus Knows You Want More Power In Your AMG A45
For some, more power is always welcomed, even though it is not usable or practical. Brabus, a long-time performance tuner that specializes in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has come out with an upgrade package that pushes more power in the latest Mercedes-AMG A45 S.
The maximum outputs of the 2020 Mercedes-AMG A45 S are 421 hp and 500 Nm. The team at Brabus managed to massage another 29 hp and 50 Nm to achieve a record 450 hp and 550 Nm from the 2.0-litre single-turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Brabus says that the extra power comes from “more than just special mapping” on the ECU, but did not elaborate more. Other items in the upgrade package include a Brabus PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit, as well as a Brabus BoostXtra adapter, which only makes hissing “blow-off” noises, alongside an additional ducting for the air intake system.
The increase in power shaves 0.2 seconds off the already supercar-like benchmark century sprint time, lowering it to 3.7 seconds. Top speed is limited to 270 km/h.
Packaged as a complete car called the Brabus B45-450, the upgraded Mercedes-AMG A45 S include Brabus-labelled 20-inch monoblock wheels together with 30 millimetre-lowering height-adjustable sports suspension system.
The front grille has been replaced with two red inserts and all Mercedes-Benz emblems are switched to the Brabus emblems together with the insertion of the B45 badging.
Brabus even offers a 100,000-kilometer/three-year warranty on the B45-450 and comes with Germany’s TUV approval.
