Premium segment leader BMW Group Malaysia gave the local media a preview of the locally assembled BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence.

“The all-new BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is testament to our continued support for the local automotive landscape, as we welcome the luxury Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) to our portfolio of locally assembled vehicles in Malaysia,” said BMW Group Malaysia managing director Harald Hoelzl in a statement.

After locally assembled the BMW 218i Gran Coupe, BMW 330e M Sport, BMW M340i xDrive, the move to localize the assembly of the largest model in the BMW X range further demonstrates the premium automaker’s longstanding confidence in Malaysia’s potential as a regional hub for the luxury automobile segment.

The BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence maintains its signature bold and immaculate exterior design with its kidney grille as well as slender BMW Laserlight headlights. Equipped as standard are also the LED fog lights and high-beam assistant. On top of that, the variant is fitted with 21-inch light alloy wheels, which compliments the overall size of the vehicle.

Under the hood, the assembled variant sports a powerful six-cylinder in-line engine. It can produce 340 hp of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque. As a result, the vehicle can complete a century sprint in 6.1 seconds with a combined fuel consumption of 9.5l/100km.

The combination of the xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system and the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) ensures the vehicle is able to maximize traction, agility and handling stability.

Similar to its imported variants, the vehicle offers Executive Drive Pro and the Dynamic Damper Control system for utmost ride comfort.

On the other hand, the interior features the “Crafted Clarity” handmade diamond-cut gear lever which exudes a luxurious feel that BMW is always known for. As standard, the variant is fitted with sport leather steering wheels and electrically adjustable comfort seats with front active ventilation.

The vehicle is also fitted with the combination of a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster as well as a large central Control Display with touchscreen, BMW Gesture Control and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant functionality for its BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 7.0.

Not only that, the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence also include Harman Kardon Surround Sound System with 16 loudspeakers, five-zone air conditioning, electric roller blinds for side windows, the Welcome Light Carpet feature, head-up display, Rear Entertainment Professional system and a Panorama Roof Sky Lounge.
