- EV Entry Figures In The Malaysian Market Still Low?
PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd (PDB) said it intends to expand mobility as electric vehicles (EVs) enter the Malaysian market.
Although the number of EVs in the Malaysian market is still quite limited, the country is equipped with at least 60 stations with charging ports for EVs.
"Currently, Petronas has 60 charging port stations equipped with the fastest charging technology. At the moment, there is no demand for the installation of EV charger ports, but Petronas is committed to increasing the service, "said PDB Chairman Datuk Md Arif Mahmood.
He said this when asked to comment on the EV charger network. He was among those involved in a question and answer session at a virtual press conference after the announcement of the company's first half of 2021 results.
Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) reported a net profit of RM9.6 billion in the second quarter that ended on June 30, 2021.
The company's strong performance was supported by better earnings and lower depreciation than a net loss of 21 billion ringgit in the same quarter last year.
