Recently, Jaguar has revealed a new range-topping R-Dynamic Black to its XF model. Following the XE R-Dynamic Black, launched last year, the XE has gained additional features as part of the update.

Both models are spotted with the Gloss Black finish applied to the door mirror caps and side sills, alongside the grille, grille surround, side window surrounds, fender vents, rear badges, and the Sportbrake roof rails. The trim also includes privacy glass and a panoramic sunroof for both models. Complimenting these vehicles are 19-inch Gloss Black wheels with red brake callipers.

Interior-wise, crafted veneers are seen with Gloss Grey Figured Ebony for the XE and Satin Charcoal Ash for the XF with bright metal pedals. Additionally, an enhanced Premium Cabin Lighting feature is introduced, which offers a choice of 30 colours compared to the previous 10 for the XF. A Pivi Pro infotainment system is fitted: providing software-over-the-air (SOTA) capabilities and offers an extensive list of apps as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Both models also offer users cabin air ionization systems, which uses PM2.5 filtration to capture airborne particles and allergens inside the vehicle. The XF also gets another easter egg - the Active Road Noise Cancellation technology, which cancels out low-frequency sounds to reduce driver fatigue when on long journeys.

Powering the XE and XF models are 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines, with the latter riding on a 48-volt mild-hybrid (MHEV) system. Matched with eight-speed automatic transmissions, these powertrains are available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics.

The most efficient engine would be the diesel engine, which produces 201 hp and 430 Nm of torque, where responsiveness and refinement enhance with the MHEV system. The engine allows a fuel economy of 4.8l/100km rear-wheel-drive XE and a 4.9l/100km for the rear-wheel-drive XF Saloon.

Meanwhile, the petrol engines allow either 246 hp and 365 Nm or 295 hp and 400 Nm of torque, with the latter unit being exclusive to the all-wheel drive. This enables the XE to complete a century sprint in 5.6 seconds, while the XF sits in second and third place with 5.8 seconds and 6.1 seconds, respectively.

The XE R-Dynamic Black is offered in five shades: Firenze Red, Bluefire, Eiger Grey, Santorini Black and a new Otsuni White, with the XF R-Dynamic Black available in the full range of colours.

Available to order now, the XE R-Dynamic Black will be priced from £33,470, while the XF Saloon and Sportbrake R-Dynamic go from £37,335 and £39,395, respectively. Interested customers can also head down here to configure their vehicles.
