Replicated To Be Like The Real Thing, Traxxas Presents The RC Toyota GR Supra GT4
Widely known for building some of the fastest, toughest, and stunningly realistic RC cars on the planet, Traxxas presents the RC Toyota GR Supra GT4 race car.
Getting its muscular curves and aerodynamic components replicated in painstaking detail, this 1/10 scale version of the Supra is the Texas-based company’s latest addition to its RC line-up.
To paint a picture, underpinning the GR Supra GT4 RC car is the company's 4-Tec 3.0 chassis, which is longer and wider to accommodate the actual Supra’s longer wheelbase and wider track.
Interestingly, according to Traxxas, its longer and wider footprint improves the stability and refines the handling.
Said chassis rides on oil-filled shock absorbers and features a dual-link suspension that can be fully tuned to suit different surfaces.
Plus, accessing the chassis is quick and easy, owing to its clipless body mounting system that seamlessly integrates into the body without disrupting the design lines.
Besides that, all of the electronics are also waterproof, meaning bad weather conditions won't be an issue. In fact, even the wheels and tires are exact replicas of the actual race car.
Aesthetic-wise, two liveries are available, including a red, white, and black design with a racing number and a more restrained design with a white body and black decals.
For comparison, the real Toyota GR Supra GT4 is powered by a BMW-sourced 3.0-litre turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine producing 430 hp and 651 Nm of torque.
Whereas for the RC Toyota GR Supra GT4 riding with an AWD system, it has a top speed of just over 30 mph (48 km/h).
Technically, it's not the fastest RC in Traxxas’ repertoire. That would be the XO-1, the world's fastest with a 0 to 100 mph (0 to 160 km/h) time of 5 seconds and a top speed of over 100 mph (160 km/h).
In short, the RC car's complexity, detailed design, and high-quality mechanisms mean this is not a cheap car, it comes with a price tag of USD 349.99 (RM 1,479.23).
