Subaru’s Prime BEV – THE SUPERIOR SOLTERRA

SOLTERRA, a battery-electric vehicle in BEV form, has recently been added to the Subaru family. Subaru Corporation debuted its new lineup globally, which the company will only launch in the middle of 2022, and the price is yet to be announced anytime soon.

Subaru SOLTERRA comes with 8.3-inches ground clearance and an X-MODE AWD control system that increases the safety sense and Grip Control function. It allows the BEV to keep stable while running at speed with an opt for 18-inch or 20-inch tyres, mainly on bumpy roads.

Subaru SOLTERRA is powered by a 71.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack and two electric motors, generating 215 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque.

Separately, a new system has been featured which tackles both front and rear wheels with its AC synchronous electric motor. As a BEV, high body strength and rigidity exist when the high-capacity battery packs are placed below the floor.

A joint platform of Subaru and Toyota, the e-Subaru Global Platform has been developed to allow an advanced driving experience that includes excellent stability when manoeuvring as part of the driver’s steering control.

Sliding to the exterior part of SOLTERRA, the visible hexagon grille and its compact body stand out significantly when the car marque adds an appealing fender, making the innovative SUV appear aggressive.

Spacious and comfortable, SOLTERRA’s cabin is well merged with the premium seats. What makes the space looks more massive is when the newly added low instrumental panel and top-mounted meter is seen right above the steering wheel.

The Solterra has an upgraded Center Console, a Digital Gauge Cluster Mounted High, and an infotainment system with a 12.3 touchscreen. Standard on all models, the car has Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger.

In addition to the various storage spots, including a large bin under the centre console, the Solterra offers up to 30 cubic feet of cargo space when the back seats are folded down.

Apart from that, the car is equipped with Pre-Collision Braking, Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Monitoring, 360-degree camera system, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and its newly Safety Exit Alert. Overall, the car is tough as it protects both occupants and the high-voltage equipment in the BEV.
