E-Rifter and E-Traveller; Two People Movers By Peugeot To Speed Up Its Electrification
Peugeot is speeding up its electrification. In January 2022, the company will only offer electric vehicles for its people mover lineup in Europe, including the compact Rifter and the medium Traveler/Expert Combi.
The Peugeot e-Rifter is huge, with enough room for five or up to seven passengers. It is fitted with a 100 kW/136 hp electric motor and a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing a range of 280 km (according to the WLTP cycle).
The Peugeot e-Traveler comes in three body lengths and two battery sizes (50 and 75 kWh) to power the 100 kW/136 hp electric motor, allowing it to transport up to 9 people over a distance up to 330 kilometres (75 kWh battery, WLTP cycle).
But, if you are looking for a simpler mover with similar capacity, the Peugeot e-Expert would be perfect because it makes electric mobility even more accessible, enabling faster shuttle rotations or easing longer distance travelling. The 50 kWh battery of all Peugeot people movers can be charged to 80 percent in only 30 minutes at a public DC fast charging station.
Electrification at Peugeot takes the form of both plug-in hybrid technology (found in the SUV 3008 and the top-of-the-line 508 sedan and SW) and pure battery-based setups (found in the e-Rifter and e-Traveler, as well as the e-208 and e-2008).
The new Peugeot 308, which just hit the market, will be the first to showcase the full range of electrified technologies, including plug-in hybrid versions that will be available from the start and full-electric battery versions that will be available as early as 2023 for both sedan and SW body styles.
