- Toyota GR Corolla, What’s New?
Perhaps next year in 2023, the Toyota GR Corolla be revealed in the US market with its stylish GR Corolla hatchback. Another powerful car to compete in the Gazoo Racing track, the GR Corolla said to have 1.6 litre turbo engine with manual gearbox and has epic styling.
Through a leaked infos, the hatchback will have 300 horsepower, manual gearbox, and lighter body panels. There have been rumors that it will be called 'GR-Four,' yet it is the name of the all-wheel-drive system, not a specific model name.
However, another rally series is the Toyota GR Yaris where in Japanese market, the car produces 272 PS at 6500 rpm and 370 Nm or torque from 3000 to 4600 rpm on a six-speed manual gearbox.
The GR corolla could send up to 70 percent of torque to the rear wheels as it is designed to perform better and safer to drive on street than rallies.
GR Corolla also comes in the same five-door hatch body where it has more sophisticated rear axle. The body will be 20mm wider than the base model and rides on 10mm lower for its tracks.
The actual hardware for the automatic transmission has yet to be revealed, but GR Yaris has already in production and can specify using an automatic transmission as well, namely the Japan-only RS.
