A Callaway Treatment, Chevrolet Presents The 35th Anniversary Edition Callaway Corvette Z51

Pursuing both the driving and building of fast cars, Reeves Callaway has been at it for many years. One milestone in particular is when he put together a twin-turbo kit for the Corvette back in 1987.

In his honour, Chevrolet has given the latest generation of the 2022 Corvette the same Callaway treatment. Behold, the 35th Anniversary Edition Callaway Corvette Z51.

To begin with, even though the mid-engine Z51 Stingray couldn’t fit a twin-turbo engine, the limited-edition racer does include multiple Callaway parts.

It features several carbon fibre aero elements like the rocker panels, a spoiler, diffuser in the rear, a front splitter and a Callaway centre ‘Double-D exhaust. 

The latter provided an 18 kg weight loss for the car, and furthermore, the treatment comes with specially forged aluminium wheels, which also dropped the weight by another 12 kg.

Interior-wise, the gas, brake and dead pedal cover assemblies were swapped with anodized aluminium plates that were CNC machined. 

On top of that, it got Callaway’s special sill panels and floor mats, and not to mention, there’s also a serialized build plaque in each car.

This special edition Corvettes will be built in the Bowling Green, Kentucky, Corvette plant, and will be transferred to Callaway’s facilities in either Connecticut or California to get the Callaway treatment. 

Once the work is done, the builds will be delivered to the Callaway factory, the National Corvette Museum, or to a certified Callaway Chevrolet dealer.

Pricing-wise, these special anniversary models sport a tag of USD 34,960 (RM 154,453) in addition to the base cost of the 2022 Corvette Z51 Stingray.

That said, the Callaway packaged Corvette is limited to just 35 examples, and those lucky 35 drivers will enjoy some pretty amazing upgrades.
