Rejoiced With A Worldwide Public Unveiling, Rolls Royce’s Full Black Badge Collection
A global public debut at this year’s Festival of Speed with a selection of highly bespoke commissions, Rolls Royce presented its full Black Badge portfolio.
Five were showcased. A Black Badge Wraith, Black Badge Dawn, Black Badge Cullinan and two Black Badge Ghosts.
Mused by its clients’ desires, each of the new commissions tells of an owner's aesthetic sensibilities, creativeness and the marque’s peerless craftsmanship.
Rolls Royce Motor Cars’ regional director for UK, Europe, Russia and Central Asia, Boris Weletzky, expressed, “Each year many clients, friends of the brand and media come together for the Festival of Speed. Located just a stone’s throw away from The Home of Rolls Royce on the Goodwood Estate, this year, our full Black Badge portfolio was displayed at the event on the Laundry Green, showcasing highly bespoke cars in vivacious colours and luxurious hues, testament to the creativity of our artisans, designers and engineers.”
Black Badge Ghost
Black Badge Ghost is the marque’s purest expression and most technologically advanced Black Badge motor car to ever debut, which was in late 2021.
The one displayed features a Galileo Blue and Black exterior finish, signifying the dramatic intent of the client’s commission.
Confidently perfecting the exterior’s aesthetic, it adorns Striking Red brake callipers and a single wheel centre pinstripe harmoniously in Galileo Blue.
Then, the blue theme is carried through to the interior, with the seat piping and bespoke interior leather, again in Galileo Blue.
Meanwhile, the second Black Badge Ghost was displayed in the VIP paddock, with its vibrant Lime Green coachwork creating a striking contrast against its dark carbon fibre Spirit of Ecstasy.
Black Badge Cullinan
Named after the world’s largest rough Diamond, Cullinan is a super-luxury SUV. Since its launch, Black Badge Cullinan has embarked on a remarkable bespoke journey.
For the commission showcased, it reunites the notions of utility, power and effortlessness that Black Badge Cullinan embodies.
Featured in Dark Olive with a single Mandarin coachline and Mandarin brake callipers, the Black Badge’s signature design simply flourishes.
Besides that, it brandishes a milled carbon fibre Spirit of Ecstasy, and the set of 22-inch Black Badge wheels just embolden the exterior aesthetic.
Black Badge Dawn
Outstandingly, Rolls Royce’s Black Badge Dawn is the most uncompromising expression of open-top luxury in the world.
Presented at the event in a striking two-tone, Jasmine with Black, this particular commission embodies the notions of adventure and freedom.
This bold and powerful two-tone treatment is also applied to the steering wheel, and the flanks of its bold coachwork are underscored by 21-inch Black Badge wheels.
Black Badge Wraith
Manifested as the world’s most powerful Rolls Royce, Black Badge Wraith is athletically talented and is a luxury Grand Tourer that sports an irresistible dynamism.
Beautifully sculpted, the commission displayed comes in Tucana Purple exterior with an upper body finished in Black.
Completed in a Mandarin coachline, it highlights the marque’s surface finish capabilities. Whereas, inside, the Mandarin and Black theme creates a dramatic and powerful aesthetic.
Parading Black Badge’s Excellence
In addition to the masterpieces presented on the stand, a Rolls Royce Black Badge Ghost was taken to the hill climb, up to four times a day in the exclusive ‘First Glance’ showcase.
Further demonstrating Black Badge’s agility, a Rolls Royce Black Badge Wraith also joined the motor cars in the ‘Michelin Supercar Run’.
Other Rolls Royce motor cars that attended the Festival of Speed were a Black Badge Dawn as a Courtesy Car and a Black Badge Cullinan as a Festival Course Safety Car.
Black Badge
Initially launched in 2016, Black Badge is the highly successful alter ego of Rolls Royce and the luxury marque’s response to a new type of clientele.
Everlasting bespoke treatments, these motor cars are darker in aesthetic, vital in personality, dramatic in material, and designed with more torque, control and power.
Ultimately, Black Badge currently represents 27 percent of commissions worldwide and is codified by the mathematical symbol that implies a potential infinity. This graphic is known as a Leminscate.
