- Porsche 918 Spyder coming in next Gran Turismo 7 update
Heads up Gran Turismo 7 fans, the staple Sony Playstation 5 title’s latest update patch - version 1.19 - releases this week and it sees the arrival of the Porsche 918 Spyder.
One of three new cars coming in this update, the 918 Spyder becomes the second of the famed ‘Holy Trinity’ trio of hybrid hypercars to enter the game after the McLaren P1, albeit in its more track-focused P1 GTR form. The only absentee apart from the non-GTR version of the said McLaren is, of course, the Ferrari LaFerrari.
Besides the Porsche 918 Spyder, update 1.19 also sees two more cars added. They are the 1947 Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder, and the 1983 Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette.
The Maserati is a classic racer that won the Gran Turismo Award at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance back in 2014. The Nissan, on the other hand, is also another racing legend from yesteryear, having gained notoriety as a dominant machine in Group 5 during the early to mid 1980s.
New cars aside, update 1.19 also welcomes two new locations in its Scapes photography mode. Amongst them is the famed Dogo Onsen, which is an ancient hot spring located in the Shikoku region.
The other new Scapes location is called Tomica Town. This one now stands as the first fictional (read: not a real-world) location to be featured in such a way through the game.
Beyond these additions, we can also expect update 1.19 to bring several minor tweaks and bug fixes.
This update will be rolled out via a scheduled server maintenance on Thursday, July 28 from 6:00AM to 8:00AM UTC.
