- The Most Powerful Type R To Date, All-New 2023 Honda Civic Type R Unveiled

A build of pure sports performance that embodies the ultimate in speed and the joy of driving, Honda uncaged the all-new Civic Type R.
Officially getting its world debut today, the sixth generation 2023 Civic Type R is slated to go on sale in Japan in September 2022.
Based on the Mk11 Civic hatchback, but in its own distinctive way, the Civic Type R blends its top-notch performance and sporty styling with a new immersive cockpit experience.
Engineered with a performance focused build, it underpins a new lightweight and highly rigid body that helps improve high speed stability and scalpel-sharp responses.
Track-ready, Nurburgring-tuned and tested, its driving dynamics have been increased even further by enhancing the suspension and steering performance.

Under the hood, lurking is an even more powerful and responsive version of Honda's 2.0-liter turbocharged VTEC engine.
Power is sent to the front wheels via an improved six-speed manual transmission, complete with a rev-matching system.
Exterior-wise, it exudes a commanding presence with its five-door fastback body style, packaged in a longer, lower and wider stance to further elevate its driving performance.
Its smooth, muscular and fairly elegant contours beautifully integrate aerodynamic elements to achieve a well-balanced downforce, as well as a reduction of drag.
Up front, its new and very aggressive layout has a mesh-designed honeycomb grille, paired to a set of focused looking headlights, which feature L-shaped DRLs.

The slit-like side vents on the lower edges of the bumper are complemented well by an enormous intake that extends right down to the lower splitter.
Panning to the side, covering its lightweight and wider alloy wheels are stocky integrated fenders, shaped to flow smoothly from the side panels.
Further enhancing the airflow efficiency are the larger front fender grilles and new side sill design behind the front wheels.
Flipping to the rear, it can also be seen with a new layout featuring a pair of vent cut-outs and a deep diffuser for the bumper, and a redesigned rear spoiler.
Housed in the new diffuser is its signature three round exhaust setup, which unlike the current Type R, the largest pipe is placed in the center.

Cloaking the exterior are five color options. Exclusive Type R Historic Championship White, Rallye Red, Boost Blue, Crystal Black Pearl and Sonic Grey Pearl.
Transitioning inside, the Civic Type R's all-new interior supports intense driving experiences with emotive, performance-focused details and features.
Fitted are the Type R's iconic red sport seats, carpet and trim, along with a serialized Type R plate placed on the dashboard.
According to Honda, its suede-like upholstery has a high friction coefficient, which reduces body slippage in high-G driving situations.
Then, its new +R driving mode exclusive instrument cluster meter design allows the driver to obtain necessary information instantly.

Notably, it comes with a graphic engine rpm display, rev indicator lights and gear position indicator positioned at the top.
Elsewhere, a multi-information display shows the vehicle information selected, and the Honda LogR data logger provides real-time readings on the vehicle’s mechanical behaviors.
Overall, the new Civic Type R is the fastest, most powerful Honda vehicle ever, which recently set a new production-car front-wheel drive track record at the Japan Suzuka Circuit.
That said, ever since it debuted in Japan as a 1997 model, the Civic Type R has been celebrated around the world as a symbol of extreme performance and desirability.
