- MAA - Vehicle Sales Increased By 552% In July To 48,922 Units

July 2022 saw 48,922 new vehicles sold, according to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA). That's more than six times over the 7,499 units sold in in the same period last year July 2021. Nevertheless, compared to 63,366 units in June 2022, sales has dropped by 22.8% in July.
In July, sales of commercial vehicles (CV) totaled 5,328 units, compared to 43,594 units for passenger cars (PV).
In its monthly release, the MAA reported that overall, for the first seven months of 2022, car sales have increased by 48.3% to 380,595 from 256,677 the previous year.
In terms of total production, 52,061 vehicles were produced in July compared with 2,775 units in July 2021. Year-to-date, total vehicle production rose to 369,994 from 244,063 a year earlier.
Regarding the outlook, MAA stated that sales in August 2022 are anticipated to remain at the same level as in July 2022.
