Fire Fighters attempting to get the fire under control, 5 Honda Civic were burnt down

A trailer carrying 6 new Honda Civic FE's presumably to be delivered to awaiting clients caught fire at Kilometre 227.2 of the North-South Highway (North Bound), near Pedas today.

According to Mohd. Izwan, Head of the Rembau Fire and Rescue Department, 3 teams of firefighters were dispatched from the Rembau, Kota and Alor Gajah (Melaka) Fire and Rescue Department to the scene at 5.20pm.

He further added that the fire originated and was focused on the rear of the car carrier trailer. Of the total 6 new Honda Civics’ ferried, 4 were totally burnt, 1 was partially burnt while 1 appeared untouched.

As of 6.25pm earlier the efforts in extinguishing the flames were still ongoing and no details were shared on the cause of the fire or the value of losses incurred.

From our observation, we would assume such fire could have been caused by tire or brake failure, that resulted in the rear wheel section catching fire.
