Tweet post by INFRASEL

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced recently that the state is looking seriously on faster road damages rectifications to provide a safer drive for its users. Road user can now take to the social APP Twitter can upload images of road damage requiring attention with 3 specific hashtags, #infrasel, #areaname and #roadname.

Previously any road damages or issues can only be raised by the public via INFRASEL's website (http://infrasel.com.my/web/index.php/aduan). INFRASEL is a subsidiary under Kumpulan Semesta Sdn. Bhd. which holds the concession under Road Works Department (Jabatan Kerja Raya) to perform all road repairs in the Selangor state.

INFRASEL web based road complaints site.

According to Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, all complaints raised thru Twitter will be automatically filtered and checked to identify whose jurisdiction the road maintenance responsibility falls under be it INFRASEL, the local authority or the Public Works Department before repairs are carried out.

Only Twitter was mentioned on INFRASEL's public engagement post.

He further adds that thru Twitter and the use of the required hashtags, the whole process from reporting to rectification would become much easier and simpler and reports can also be extended via Facebook. However, when Caricarz checked, INFRASEL's social post only specifies Twitter and not Facebook. We do hope reports via Facebook is made viable as Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari mentioned because there are more Malaysians on Facebook compared to Twitter.

Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari hopes this initiative by the Selangor State Government will make it easier for the public to interact with relevant bodies hence improving its services to the people.

From Caricarz observation to the #infrasel, there has been some reports raised and INFRASEL has been engaging to those posts within 24 hours. However, there are cases that INFRASEL has no jurisdiction in performing road repairs which hence we call for all states and area to adopt similar reporting process to achieve a synergy road works rectification.
