UMW Group reported to achieve the highest sales with a total of 93,972 units delivered in the third quarter of 2022 compared to 89,183 units in the second quarter of 2022 that explains more than 4,789 units surpassing the sales record for Q2 2022.

From January to September 2022, the UMW Group delivered a total of 267, 226 units which is 62% higher than 165,211 units registered in the corresponding period of 2021 that sees slack in sales due to Full Movement Control Order from June 1 to August 15, 2021.

The car maker recorded a strong sales momentum in September 2022 with the delivery of 9,233 units whereas its automotive sales grew by 6% to 24,961 units different from 23,464 units in the second quarter of 2022.

In the meantime, Year-to-date (YTD) for September 2022, UMWT registered 70,872 units, a 54% growth while 46,118 units registered in the corresponding period of 2021.

Models namely Toyota Vios, Hilux, Corolla Cross, and Yaris receive an overwhelming love from customers as these four kinds stand as the best-selling vehicles.

To further refresh its model line-up, UMW Toyota has unveiled the all-new Toyota Veloz recently which is a CKD unit that consists of Daihatsu's New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform which carries a price tag aproximately around RM95k and already received 5,200 bookings.

On a different note, Perodua’s sales momentum for September 2022 has dropped down to 24,626 units, which in August last month, the number shows a higher number of 26,039 units registered.

Perodua also achieved its highest production in September 2022 with 29,077 units, to support the strong demand for its models.

Nevertheless, Perodua’s sales in the third quarter of 2022 peaked with registration of 69,011 units, 5% higher than the 65,719 units registered in the second quarter of 2022.

More than that, the car maker's sales boosted by 65% to 196,354 units although in 2021, only 119,093 units registered.

UMW Holdings Berhad President and Group CEO, Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali highlights the demand for both UMWT and Perodua which remains strong, as proven from the encouraging sales registered in the third quarter of 2022.

This is also supported by improving supply chain and outstanding bookings for both UMWT and Perodua whilst both companies will continue to intensify production to hasten delivery to our customers.
