Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) in the spirit of Christmas and the holiday season deployed its staffs nicknamed The ‘Elf Squad’ to spread love to 150 children from three selected shelter homes, Rumah K.I.D.S, Suriana Welfare Society and Yayasan Sunbeams Home in the Klang Valley. MBM’s ‘Elf Squad’ also bought personalised gifts for each child based on their desired wish list.

This is the 12th installation of the company’s annual social initiative, fondly known as “Christmas in a Shoebox”. MBM also made a special one-off cash donation of RM10,000.00 per shelter home.

Sagree Sardien, President and CEO, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia chimed in, “As a global brand, it is our social responsibility and one of our core values to nurture and empower our little ones as they are our future, for a better and sustainable tomorrow. Therefore, this year, we wanted to spread the joy and laughter of the season even further by extending our Christmas in a Shoebox celebration not to one, but to three different children’s homes”.

Sagree goes on to add that “Every child deserves to wish upon a (Mercedes) star. We are glad to be able to bring joy to these underprivileged children, and take great pride in supporting such initiatives over the last 12 years. We hope to continue this initiative for many years to come. This event is also something that our employees look forward to every year as it is such a fun and meaningful way to give back to our community. It is the small and simple gestures that make the biggest impact in life”.

To further spread the Christmas spirit, MBM’s ‘Elf Squad’ did also visit, decorate, and hand out Christmas gifts to the top three nominated children’s homes from 15-19 December 2022. The images here best reflects the amount of fun and enjoyment the childrens had with loads of fun, games, food and joy-ride in various Mercedes-Benz cars including the all-electric models from Mercedes-EQ.
