Bentley Mulliner Unveils Special Bathrust-inspired Continental GT S Duo
Bentley’s bespoke division Mulliner have unveiled a pair of specials based on the Bentley Continental GT S to commemorate the Flying-B’s win at Australia’s famed Bathurst 12-Hour race from 2020.
Both were specially commissioned in Australia and follow on almost immediately from the base Continental GT S model’s launch in said market. Their special aesthetics were inspired by the winning number 7 Bentley Continental GT3 race machine that reigned in the 2020 edition of the 12-hour endurance race held at the famed Mount Panorama circuit.
Both cars proudly feature the #7 number on their grilles matched with Beluga black accents on the roof, mirror caps, tailgate, and lower bumper. Both are also primed with the Blackline Specification which adds polished black treatments to all of the chrome trims, as well as the Styling Specification’s carbon fibre splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser.
Both specials are set apart by their differing exterior shades– one dressed in Apple Green reminiscent of the 2020 winning racecar, the other finished in Silver Tempest to mirror the 2017 launch car of the second-gen Continental GT3. Both are also fitted with the S-specific 22-inch wheels finished in Gloss Black.
On board, the cabin in both gets a combination of Leather and Dinamica upholstery in Beluga with Apple Green pipe stitching. There’s also the Bathurst logos embossed on the headrests, followed by other special touches include the “one of two” treadplates, the outline of the Bathurst track on the carbon-fibre dashboard, and the names of the racing drivers who drove the victorious #7 printed on the centre console.
Lastly, both a a 1:18 scale model of the winning Continental GT3 #7 plus a framed artefact comes as part of each car’s purchase.
Aesthetic changes aside, both specials are mechanically identical to the Continental GT S models they underpin. Both are powered by the base car’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 delivering 542 HP and 770 NM, allowing for 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 4 seconds.
Completing the S model’s package is the inclusion of a louder sports exhaust, as well as Bentley’s 48-volt active anti-roll system called Bentley Dynamic Ride.
This latest special duo built for Australia adds further to the Mulliner’s division record-breaking efforts. Said division created a record 500 cars throughout 2022, all of which undoubtedly helped towards driving the Bentley brand’s equally record-breaking feat of delivering over 15,000 cars in the same year.
