- Perodua Allocates RM1.15 Bil Capex For 2023
Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) has budgeted RM1.15 Bil in capital expenditures (capex) for this year from RM850.5 Mil in 2022 for business growth and to enhance group operations,
Perodua is looking to advance in many business areas, including production, sales, purchasing commitment, and vehicle intake, among others, according to president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
RM247.1 Mil will be spent on operations modernization, including converting current 1S and 2S centres into 3S centres. The Pre-Owned Vehicles (POV) and subscription businesses will also be expanded by the company in light of the favourable feedback for the Ativa Hybrid, which was unveiled in September of last year.
Service intake will rise 7.3% from 2.64 Mil units in 2022 to 2.83 Mil units in 2023. Due to this, its market share of intake will increase by a negligible 1% to 74% this year from 73% last year.
To reach its 2023 goals, Perodua has allocated RM 10.0 Bil to purchase components from regional suppliers.
The automaker wants to see a rise in vehicle intake to 2.8 mil units in 2023 from the 2.6 Mil units seen in 2022, according to Dato Zainal.
He added that this expansion would come from both longer service times and more service bays for Perodua across the nation.
