Tom’s Racing Develops Radical Styling Kit For The Toyota GR Corolla

Toyota tuners Tom’s Racing (TOM’S Co., Ltd.) unveiled a rather radical styling kit made especially for the Toyota GR Corolla this week. Co-developed with rally driver Takamoto Katsuta, the result makes the regular GR Corolla appear rather ‘pedestrian’ in contrast.
Given that Katsuta races for the Toyota Gazoo Racing team, he arguably offers the right inputs to elevate the GR Corolla’s stance and perhaps performance. Also, this new kit has been christened as the GR Corolla Type TK – the latter alphabets derived from Katsuta’s initials.

Aptly, extensive modifications can be seen in the front end, which incorporates a reshaped, rectangular front grille. There’s also a prominent new splitter with large aerodynamic flics on the leading edges, plus two large canards on either side of the bumper.
The mods continue with the addition of a pronounced sides skirts set, a new sizeable rear wing with plenty of aerodynamic fins, as well as two additional exhausts, bringing the total up from three to five.

According to Tom’s Racing, these parts aren’t just for style, they also improve cooling and manoeuvrability for the hot-hatch. No performance details were released, but we reckon the factory-backed tuning firm has plenty of kits to bolster this hot-hatch’s performance further.
Are you digging this radical redux of the GR Corolla hot-hatch? Tom’s Racing says the Type TK package pre-orders opens starting from March 1 this year. Prices have yet to be announced, but the kit will officially launch later this year between September and November.

On another note, the GR Corolla is set to debut in Malaysia later today alongside several other GR performance models through UMW Toyota Motor. Said hot-hatch also recently entered the Australian market officially earlier this week where its AUS$62,300 (approx. RM492,405) starting price sees it undercut the rivalling new Honda Civic Type-R FL5’s AUS$72,600 (approx. RM220,263) figure.
Are you excited to see the Toyota GR Corolla, as well as the new GR86 and GR Supra MT officially launch later today? Also, what do you think of this radical redux of the GR Corolla by Tom’s Racing? Hit the comments below, then…
